i dont know if i can play australian games on my us xbox?
my freind is sending me a game for my birthday and i need to know if it will play i need to be sure before he sends it to me

For the most part the answer is "no", but I guess there are some games out there that are not region locked, such as the U.S. version of Ghostbusters. I would go to the specific games forums to find out. Don't games cost alot more in Australia? If he is just sending you one of his games though, check the forums.
When I die, I want to go like grandpa, peacefully while I'm asleep. Not screaming like the other people in his car.

GB is the only non-region-locked game I know, but I suspect there are more. Like with DVDs, some smaller companies do not to to the trouble of region-locking, so you might find that some of the, um, smaller stars in the Xbox galaxy are not region-locked.

I heard that Guitar Hero Metallica wasn't region locked but don't quote me on that cause I'm not 100% positive.
