New to the GRID world, how come the cars catch up with you so quickly when your so far out in front, you go into a corner and skid a bit, the next thing 4 cars are right beside you, plus with the laps being so short during the race i can never lap anyone.

what level are you playing it at in single play set it lowest ( basic/normal/serious/savage/extreme and when you compleat the game ninja) once you have set the level you play at  they will not catch you up if you are already at the lowest level then you need to practice and practice in the end you should be able to play at ninja level all the time.......

you need to get up to extreme level for some of the achieverments good luck race you on line some time

Thats totally due to the elasticbanding in the game,... lol. However, once you're fast enough the issue dissolves very quickly. Try racing as the other chap here says on a less harsh difficulty. If they're still rubberbanding with you, then you need to drive much much faster.

I don't know why but the cars always ram me of the track. I don't know if they are programmed to do that or not but when I'm going good, driving along a stretch, and have someone near me they drive up and slam me on the side so that I lose the whole race.

as mr neurosync put it go faster to brake that elasticband and hay your past then with ease

as far as lapping someone .. .. (i'm assuming for achievement purposes)  .... you should be able to get this easily on the "Demolition Derby" ...that is, if you don't wreck of course.

...And the littlest slide will lose you about 1-2 seconds . . . .so make sure you don't do that ;)
