I'm having trouble setting this up, my old Xbox 360 worked perfectly, it rrod'ed. I bought a new one, and now it doesn't work.

I'm using a Linksys CM100 Cable modem connected to a WRT54G router, which then connects to my 360, and my PC. All wired.

I've set up sharing on everything already, WMP11 actually sees my Xbox360, but my Xbox cannot detect my PC. Windows firewall is off, I have no othet type of firewall, just an antivirus that is never on. (I actually uninstalled it and tried it, and then re-installed it). I just can't make sense of anything, there's no reason it shouldn't be picking it up.

I noticed my Router or my PC can't ping my 360, this is definitely a problem, and I can't figure out how to fix it.

I tried the DRM fix already as well, with no luck.

Is sharing enabled on WMP11?  Go to Library -> Media Sharing

Yes, it is. Like I said above, my WMP11 sees my 360, I just don't know why I can't ping my 360 from my PC, I should be able to if it were actually connected to the router, but the router says it is connected. and my XBL works perfectly, NAT open and everything.

Fixed it myself, apparently it had nothing to do with my Network. Strange...

For anyone else with this problem (I've seen loads of people just browsing the internet), try re-installing WMP11.

It may just work.

So apparently the re-install WMP11 only fixes it until I restart my PC... then it doesn't work when I boot it up, no PC detection no streaming etc.

Really at a loss this time, I have no type of firewall, and nothing that is "startup" is disabled, this service is so frustrating... Anyone got any ideas ?

I'm in the same boat since I got my router. Everything in my setup is hard wired to the router and neither the Xbox or PC will recognize each other. It's really frustrating.

Maybe windows 7 will help us connect our media sharing features more easier...

I had this problem before because i was using Windows Media Player 11
it just wasn't working for me so then i tried out Zune.
Zune is an easier program for you to try for free.
Try it out

Hey dude i had the same problem, go to start, then control panel, then click classic view, then go to administration, then click services, then go to UPnP Device Host and right click it then restart. this should fix it temporary until you restart your PC. then you gotta do it again to let it work thats what the problem i am having.
