All the dics just come piled up one on top of each other and the 4th disc comes in a CD sleeve.  Couldn't they make the case a bit bigger just so it can protect the CD's.   Anyway just got the game and i am hoping it has a good plot.

Likely a Marketing mistake. They probally had decided to use the spindle then later found out that all 4 discs wouldn't fit so rather than make a new case they just thought "we'll save money by including the 4th disc in a sleeve".

I believe the main answer is, "To save money." Making a bigger case would cost money, making those flappy disk holders you see for bonus DVDs/CDs in Collector's Editions would cost money etc. Yet Europe actually got better casing than the US did so I'd say it was also because of laziness.

the game was originally packages with all 4 discs stacked on top of each other, but it was a squeeze and led to complaints of disc 4 being scratched right out of the case, so they started shipping it with the 4th disc in its own sleeve

wtf - mine came in a double thick case kinda thing with the four discs sitting nicely in place - like a bonus dvd thing i suppose. works well

I don't think it really matters how they packed it as long as you're careful with the discs.
