I think if I knew exactly what files the 360 supported, I could figure the rest out myself. Also, if I have a file of one type, how do I go about changing it?

Click here for Microsoft's own FAQ on supported formats for Xbox 360.

Also to switch file types you'd need to locate a video converter, but I couldn't really recommend anything solid for you, I haven't really found a reliable one myself.
