DLC- The dungeon

DR NAF 1 07-01-2009, 9:12 PM

Ive downloaded the expansion pack, but I also want to know, does the DLC incorperate itself automatically within the story, meaning do you have to be or not past at a certain point in the storyline.

And please no major spoliers.

yes. If you downloaded the Triple Bonus Pack you should get the items automatically but DLC like the Dungeon can't be access until where you can openly explore obviously. If you have any more questions, message me on LIVE! I'll be glad to assist you! :)

where is the dungeon?
Every 6 weeks Rare employees and Microsoft employees get together for a knife fight to the death. True story.

The DLC can be played after a certain point in the game, not just any time.. since you don't want spoilers can't say when, but you can only reach it by having a certain mode of transportation plus a major even during the storyline.

My opinion is keep playing towards the end and be nicely level 70+ at least. The dungeon would be more worth it then.

You will find it east of the Sunken town of Khent under water north center of the map.  You can also see it's indication when you call up the map when you're in the White Boa or the Nautilus,  its as a little white circle above the sea.

I hated this DLC.
Reason 1: No Save Point before the Boss
Reason 2: The Boss is a *** quantum singularity. All my Immortals are Level 90, and I followed all the videos on youtube, and still couldn't beat him, all 3 times. I even beat The Immortal One in the Backyard Battles, but not Dr K or whatever.

My best friend is Haywood Jablome, I do declare. However, Mike Oxawopah is still cool, due to his Russian heritage.

I agree with this post. We spent $5 on a boring dungeon where all you do is run through it to the bottom with no entertaining puzzles. Then when you get there, you have to defeat this ridiculously difficult boss, and it gives you no checkpoint or save point. It's really really awful.

I agree and don't agree. I only really attempted him once semi-prepared and I get upset at it, I knew what to expect though but all the cards didn't seem to fit together and I goofed from the start.

But, I like a challenge and the whole game plus this DLC has been a challenge. Only thing really annoys me is the load time for random battles if you're rushing through, thats bout it. But, after fully preparing myself, watching this video, was able to finally beat him the second time with everyone alive. Don't even need the items thats drop from dungeon either.

I had a question on this DLC, can I assume I have to finish the new dungeon BEFORE I finish the original games final dungeon? As in If I finish the game, I can't then check out the new DLC dungeon?

You'll have to check it out and finish it before completing the game. So might as well either finish game and save the New Game+ to different slot while you have the other save file right before the end of the game to tie up loose ends such as the DLC.

Once you complete the game you aren't given the option to go back and do stuff you put off.

Hopefully adding to Raaj's advice, you can't access the DLC until Disk 4.  And you have to have the White Boa with the Nautilus versus only having the Nautilus because of two reasons, both which are spoilers.  Let's just say the qualities added of these two vessels help you to get there.  The location, like others blinks white and is in the center huge lake area of the map near the Eastern center.

Regarding other comments, between my Netskywalker account and this one I have been down the DLC roughly 500 times, 25 levels x 20.  I've only fought Prof. K 4 times, watching the video only once.  In all those travels my purpose was to experiment two things, trying different spells with different battles and seeing if it is a true random generator or programmed to "gift" you the dropped items after a certain tenacity of attempts.  The former is true imo since I have never gotten two of the 4 items.  It is true what Raaj's says that you don't really need them for Prof. K but I think it's ridiculous not to have them given to you if you try enough times after some limit.

Another huge objection is to not even put a save point say on level 12, half way through.  Everything about this DLC is unfriendly to gamers.  While you'll definitely, including myself, feel great pride in having defeated Prof. K.  I think it's safe to say you'll ask yourself, was it really worth it?

Here's a couple links I found that maybe redundant, sorry for that:
