Well getting on Gears 2 eagerly awaiting to play my first TU4 match I search for a game. When I do happen to join one it is 2V5 and of course I am on the lacking team. Not only that but my teammate is a level 2 and all of the other team is level 60 and up. So I think to myself why should I deal with this? So I got up and unplug myself off of Xbox Live. After doing this the thought occurred to me that maybe they patched this in the Title Update? So I quickly finished a wave of Horde and sure enough I got a penalty. Guess I really have to endure those laggy games now...

Thats bitter sweet if ever there was such a thing. Cry babies cannot just unplug and get out of being pwned but you have to suffer through stupid games such as this one. In the end I like the change, but thats just my opinion. Best of luck with that lvl 2 Wink [;)]

It had a good run. In the end I knew this would be patched but was surprised to see it wasn't mentioned in the official TU4 notes. Overall it isn't a devastating loss, but I'm going to hate to join the next extremely laggy game and have nothing else to do but sit at spawn and watch my K/D ratio go down the drain.

I always just quit out these kind of games anyway, 1500 points is chump change @ lvl 52 (Which I know is a low level) it takes 1 good game to get those points back and you can probably play 3 in the time that one laggy one runs.

Yup. There is no reason at all to do anything that makes you miserable. And playing laggy-quantum singularity Matches or being lag-switched or host-bridged is NOT FUN, so just bail. You can make the 1500 up in no time. Save your Stats, save your peace of mind. Simple.

I can't take Gears of War 2 that seriously, so I don't care at all about K/D in it.

Pulling the plug still works for me. I've done it 3 times today during unplayable lagging matches and haven't gotta penalty.

The highlighted portion seems to be the issue, wireless internet is never the answer.

Is it a bad idea to just turn off your console and turn it back on? Havent seen a post of anyone doing that

You'll get 1500 points loss. If your just trying to get out real quick and dont care about the point loss (which you shouldn't) tap the power button and hit x to sign out, it drops to the main menu fast, only time this sucks is when your in a party and you have to rejoin it.

once you sign back in it joins back to the party automaticly.

Exactly. Yes [Y] Same for me.

It just randomly does the -1500. But 99% of the time it works.

Eh, after they introduced the bots, I didn't get bothered by people quitting anymore that much. Experiencing quitters was HORRIBLE in Gears 1 and pre-bots Gears 2. It's amazing that in Gears 2 they have both the bots as well as a 1500 point penalty for quitting whereas in Gears 1 they had neither.
