i'm guessing most of you guys & girls know about the curse of the xbox freeze up during Campaign Battles & Besieged I think ive lost about 90,000 exp overall due to this problem well the good news is I spoke to a GM today about it & he/she said the Development Team for working on a solution to this problem im just hoping that this solution is going to be installed with the upcoming July update Fingers crossed.

hehe, i was just gonna post asking if any way of helping this issue, maybe clearing cache on the xbox etc before starting beseiged. but i've forgotten button combinations to do that on xbox. lol
Personally never had a problem with Campaign battles (yet). but beseiged i rarely get through without a D/C. Though so far i always managed to reboot in time to get the xp.
Main reason i beseiged though tbh is skillups which you dont lose from D/C thankfully.

I am pesimistic about that GM you spoke to though, after all this has been an issue for years, wondering if they just told you what you wanted to hear to. All we can do is hope i guess.

I am going to be honest with you:
Most GM’s don’t know much more than you can know on your own. They have no insider information, no ties with developement, nothing at all. The only difference between them and you is you pay to play, while they get paid to play.

Now, I am not debunking your GM buddy, 100%, I mean, sure, there is a chance dude may know something.

I certainly hope they fix it without breaking something else though. Probably why SE hasn’t done anything about it.

I have come to the conclusion that it is a programmed internet band width issue for the ported version for the 360. When ever a lot of lag happens in this game, it tends to lock up. Some of this can be reduced, by putting chat filters and effects filters on. (if not all of them). It certainly helps in campaign when you turn on the effects filter for “Npc to NPC” and “NPC to Monster.” All curing and blinkga animation is not neccessary.

I have also noticed lock up issues when you try to acces the mini-guide while playing the game. I know for certain the dashboard and miniguide eat up a HUGE amount of bandwidth. Especially when loading the avatar gamerpics for ppl on your FL. I hav ehad the game lock up when browsing my FL, then I eject the game, the 360 then boots me back to the dashboard. Which really makes me consider it is the game not the console, even more.

Well i highly doubt any GM would have the information regarding when or what will be addressed in any updates, they most likely told you what you wanted to hear.

As you have since seen, July has come and gone, no fix... not even an official mention of any future fix, lets face it, its not gonna happen.

If you want to do besieged with less chance of locking up just dont enter right at the start, whenever i do the full hour i 99% lockup right at the very end, however if i enter 10 - 15 mins after the besieged starts then i can mostly complete them no problem.

I am ofcourse referring to a level 8 besieged, adjust your entry times according to how long the besieged is likely to last, ive been doing it this way for years, i thought most other people would have done so too, odd.

The really upsetting part is that everyone here is right. I worked (briefly) for a small online game as a GM. We were usually kept out of the loop on development, patches, etc. unless it was a really big issue that also affected us. The major role of a GM is to be the in-game police officer.

Now I really hope that you are right and this guy DOES have some awesome insider information. It is possible. However, keep in mind a lot of players have been reporting these problems with the Xbox 360 version since it's release. Many of us have given up and I think the developers have too. With the announcement of FFXIV it has made a lot of people's outlook even more grim...
