I am new to Fable 2 and have been searching the forums and other web sites on how to earn achievements
but I am not able to  earn the achievements.
for example.
I can't seem to find a dog or the dog that is suppossed to be there.
 Let alone any other achievements that are to be unlockable. I downloaded both expansions (premier versions) And still seem to be missing the ability to get any achievements. Are they available only for co-op players or single players? any references

Anyone can earn achievements. I dont know why your dog isnt there, are you a kid still, or have you gone through the game?

And are you actually doing the requirements for the achievements? If you are and it isnt working, im not too sure what to do, sorry.

i've gone through the game and beat Jack, went through the credits and got his mask.
even the simplest collect 5 gold as a kid seems to not unlock any achievements, i've made sure i am connected to xbox live.
I even deleted my profile for the game (saved game) and started again with a new profile and then deleted the downloaded
content and redownloaded it again. Thinking it was the downloads.

I've read all the information here and what is posted is not what im seeing in the game.
I never seen the chicken kicking contest, the diving contest etc.

I am completely lost on how or what I am doing wrong (which i think i am doing or missing something).

Ummm ... first off, if I read your statements correctly, there is no Jack in Fable 2.

Jack of Blades is in Fable 1 (an Xbox game).  You can't receive achievements for Xbox games.  They have to be Xbox 360 games (the second generation system). 

Are the other details you are talking about also from the first game?

ohh now i feel like a complete moron, i downloaded  Fable by the marketplace thinking it was fable 2.
now its all clear to me,
At least now i can stop wondering what was wrong..
