Trouble with Gold activation...
I recently purchased XBL Gold through this site (the $1 for 1 month deal) and it says I am in Gold member status. I go to my Dashboard, however (I logged out and back in, even tried restarting the system) and it still says I'm Silver for the past 15 minutes now. I looked in Account Management and I can find my purchase of Gold, but it always says I'm Silver at the dashboard. Is there some kind of lag time I need to wait for or is there something wrong?

Try going to www.billing.microsoft.com and log in with your account details and see if it has the membership listed there.

Okay, it does list it and Gold just activated on my Dashboard, but now there's another problem. I'm trying to play Skate 2 online with my friend, but now it seems my Gold account isn't being recognized in the game. I go to create a session and I get a message saying my current account doesn't allow me to use that feature, and when I check my party, it's vanished. It comes back when I go back to the Dashboard. Maybe I just have to wait that out, too, but I'm getting increasingly paranoid. : \

I'm actually having the same problem, except mine still does not show that I have a Gold subscription at the dashboard. I went to the billing website and it says the 1 month $1 is enabled. It's been a little while since I purchased, do I need to call or anything or should I just wait?

Your account is now showing you have a gold account. I'll leave it for 48 hours since you brought the membership before you contact them, as there may be a slight delay due to the maintenance they did the other day.

I bought mine last night and it sent a statement to my card saying that I bought it but nothing on microsofts end saying that they billed me.

Tried to get Gold membership at the yearly rate. I see on my card that MS took a dollar from the account but no activation of any kind. I want to get the whole year and that is what I asked for. I applied for it around 1:00pm and it is now 5:00pm and still no activation.

What countries are each of you from?

It may be they are still having some issues after the maintenance.
