Re: The next DLC

Fable II

The next DLC

maul 2k8 07-03-2009, 11:06 AM
We all know there is more DLC coming to Fable 2, and I have speculation of what it might contain.

Lionhead have specifically stated that the character of Reaver would be revisited in future DLC, and we haven't seen him yet so this is one of the upcoming DLC's. Reaver and Garth both went to Samarkaland after the end of Fable 2 (which is the in-game equivelant of Africa), so I am thinking the next DLC will expand the map so it opens up this whole new region for gameplay. But not just a small section like Knothole, maybe something about 1/4 of the whole size of Albion.

What do you think, and what else do you think they could do in future DLC?

knothole island is like 1/4 the size of albion, lol. The albion that we see anyway. Im hoping that they'll do like a TLC length of dlc, also with a large new area.

I never heard of LH saying that, but it sounds pretty cool, hopefully they'll actually put more than an hour of content into this one.

I don't remember LH saying that either, but I know the concept of going to where Reever/Garth went was discussed in some threads here.  That would be sweet though to expand the physical gameplay area...There has been discussions on which is better Oblivion, or Fable 2... I think the only thing Oblivion has on Fable is definitely the world size, so a Fable world expansion is more than welcome...that and maybe the ability to own/ride mounts, and possibly new weapons categories!!

Maybe we may actually see TLC, perhaps the future DLC will expand Albion and include the Snowspire and the Northern Wastes, in the Tales of Albion it said that there more more towns and villages in the Northern Wastes that had grown over the years.

As to Reaver returning, I am 99% sure I heard it. There are other people who have said about it but I can't find an actual source, so if anyone can find one that would be great!

I would love to see a dlc about half the size of the shivering isles with all the content they promised the EXTREME morphs(red demon) the chest belt to hold swords and guns and new spells and new charge ways seeing evry spell charge as a ball is getting pretty old

I hated the mana bar if your a hero i think you should have unlimited exp but you should get tired like garth does and the better you get at will the longer you can do spells for

well if you think about it, its the same thing. If you get tired thats like running out of mana, and the better you get, the longer your mana bar gets, and thus you can cast more spells.

No mana bar, the reason in MMO's like Runescape and WoW, and games like Fable that 90% of people play as the warrior type character with a sword is because it is infinite. When having a 'mane bar' or '20 arrows' then you have to keep spending money and restocking and run out eventually. In Fable 2 they fixed this by giving you infinite everything, if they added in the mana bar again then nobody would bother being a mage.

well fable 1 had a mana bar, and i loved playing a will type hero. I guess for fable 2 it would kind of be dumb to have a mana bar because the spells themselves are pretty annoying to cast, plus you cast once and everything is dead.

But i think the spell system in fable 1 worked well with a mana bar. If there wasnt one in fable 1, that would be really dumb because you tend to use them a lot and it would be really cheap. You could just walk around spamming inferno with magic shield on and you invincible. I know thats not what you're talking about but im just saying.

I don't really care what they do, just as long as they keep doing DLC for Fable 2.

This is a game that needs to keep growing.

I would like to see more connections to Fable 1, myself, so as long that happens, i'm fine with whatever they do.

if they do more with garth and reaver, i hope they expand their story and their personalities as well. did anyone really care about them at all while playing?

i still secretly hold out hope that jack of blades isn't dead, or that his mask will be found.

Well, he came back from certain death once so he could easily do it again.

I hope they do dlc on all of the other heroes.  Reaver is a stitch  I bought his "home" and in the letter he left he said that he is coming back and that he will kill who ever bought the house.

Why not just release the DLC from the LE version.
That would save me having to fork out over £50 for it.
Easy money for Lionhead, new dungeons for me.
I'm not fussed about the Halo style armour but I'm sure a load of people would buy the DLC just for that.

I'd like check up on Hannah with the warrior monks in the North.  Garth was just a cool character all-around, so I'm hoping he isn't just dropped.  And Reaver... honestly, I felt he didn't have enough screen time.  He was introduced endgame, and upon reaching endgame... he leaves.  I'd like to give him a bonk on the head for Barnum, but other than that I liked him... maybe we could even get our hands on one of the Dragonstomper .49's he's been hoarding.

I'd also like to see the LE content brought back around at some point... mostly because I got it when it released, but never knew there where issues with the content; simply put, I have the Hal armour and sword, but the dungeon and cutlass elude me... that's what I get for being lazy and not checking around I guess. :P

Well, Reaver was a jerk, so I didn't care about him that much.  Plus, he is supposed to be the hero of skill, but he couldn't even pull off a headshot.  It took him a while to kill one person.  But I thought Garth was a pretty cool character.  So it would be cool to see more of the other heroes.
