I noticed that Ikaruga is 400 points this week, for anyone that doesn't have it yet (including me). Just wanted to post a heads-up for anyone who might be interested....

is this game a buy? I like downloading the deal of the month and i was looking at the pictures and I was thinking of skipping this one.  Just d/l the demo but wanted some opinions from players as well

If you get into it it's awesome, if you just wanna fly around and shoot stuff it'll probably be too short and easy for most. Chaining the whole game can take hundreds of hours of practice though so that's where the difficulty and replay value is.

I've been waiting for a year for Ikaruga to go on sale (yes, I'm cheap) and 2 days before it becomes the deal of the week my xbox breaks . Anyone knows if there's a way for me to still buy this? I'm guessing maybe I can redeem a 1600 point card on xbox.com and add the full game to my queue while it's still 400 msp, but I'm not sure. I won't get my 360 back for a few weeks. Would I still get the discounted price?

yes that would work.  if you buy it now you actually do BUY it now.  the time and place you download the game has nothing to do with the price that you pay for it now.  so feel free to add it to your queue on xbox.com and you will be fine.

I have had the demo for a while but finally downloaded this game yesterday. For 400 points, this thing is a steal! It is a challenging, addictive and a very deep shooter that is disguised as a simple game. Simple it is not, I am finding. Even "Easy" is hard. Anybody on the fence about this game (like I was) should jump at this opportunity and grab this game while it is on sale.

It's funny because I was actually checking to see if this game was good enough for a purchase. I was watching videos on Youtube saying it's on deal of the week so I checked the date and it's still going on. It's originally 800 MS but since it's 400 MS right now I might as well stop hesitating and snatch it. So I will.

I had been after this game for far too long, don't know why I hadn't bought it before now.  Remember playing it in a gaming competition when it first came out years ago on the Dreamcast, loved it since.
