Just got this game last week, and at first I thought it was a refreshing change from the stale Smackdown games that seem to have poluted console for the past few years. Then I got to the point in the story where is becomes almost impossible to win or so it seems. How can a game that is so easy to pick up and play suddenly become so difficult in the space of about 12 matches? This is a joke! I think I'm on the easiest difficulty setting (indie) yet I get my *** handed to me almost every match! I thoughti was good at wrestling games in general, having played since In Your House. But this is just stupid. Even Smackdown on the hardest difficulty is easier than AJ Styles in the story mode! please help!

well i hate the game dnt remember much about it except the fact that i traded it in the day after I got it and i got the piece of crap on its release date.. and i dont think the svr series has gone down hill I think fans are just upset that they dont have the features that they want in the game..

I think that the Smackdown games need a new dev team with a few more ideas, I think the game is going stagnant at THQ. I think that Here Comes the Pain was easily the best in the series.

i enjoy playing the game its full of maheym .but what i think the problem is that midway dont watch svr games or try to get the information of what this tna game needs.but pretty sure they are gonna have a tna 2..or not.

I just bought TNA Impact it is possible the wosrt wrestling game that i have ever played ...WWE has set moves that can be momorized upto 64 per combination this is a peice of rubbish i cant beleive i actually paid money for TNA ..did no-one test the game before putting it on the market...it was horrible...i actually pulled out my ps2 and started playing wwe 'here comes the pain' i honestly am shocked at the discusting gameplay the inability to kick out and the sure lack of thought put into the construction of this game..i am so dissapointed i dont think i will ever buy a TNA game again or watch the programs either.......TNA had the potential to beat wwe in all ways but fell very short.

Please i would love some responses

I was considering buying, but your review (and others) have persuaded me not to & it's only about £5 now!
I really hope Fire Pro bring out a HD series to the xbox, that would satisfy me greatly & i would possibly NEVER buy a wrestling game again!

I wouldn't let the game put you off been a TNA fan, things can only get better for the next release (if there's going to be one?)

I was looking a video footage of the game, it looks really good, graphics are probabily better than WWE's but then i heard the bad points of the game, But anyway if they improve on there mistakes iMPACT 2 should be the business!

i thought the game was pretty good the wrestling phyisics were way better in it the svr because it was all motion captured and you could still hit people when someone is doing a move to them:),, anyways i think its way harder the svr 09 so i enjoy a challenge in tna

to me svr 09 feels more like the game is playing for you they have shitty characters so many glitches and a shitty wok create an unrealistic looking finisher that cannot even create finishers, i couldnt even create matt morgans suplex slam thingy ,the only realisitic moves you can create are already moves in the efen game

yes the game has many flaws but all they have to do is add the matches wwe have in they games add a little TNA twist then it will be better and add the customization and the weps there You go an A plus game

Svr should delete every move and re animate them using motion capture

and wtf why is scott steiners finishing move a pin?? its a bloody submission maneover

No they shouldn't, are you an idiot? The only reason TNA's moves are motion captured is because there are so little of them. WWE's games have tons of moves, there's so many, it would take way too long and cost way too much to motion capture all of them. TNA has the worst move-set in wrestling game history, if they ever make another, they need to add in way more moves.

My thoughts? Here's my thoughts, whoever worked on this game needs to get out of the business because they obviously aren't competent. Did they test this thing? It's a joke! My tag partner just sits there with his thumb up his as$ while I get pinned while the AI's  partner comes in. Collision detection is awful, move-set is practically non-existent. Whoever made this couldn't have possibly played a wrestling game before. It's impossible. They seriously need to quit the game industry and work on something else.

Given Midway went bust and no-one bought the TNA game, due to it being awful, it's a near-certainty. Shame really, as it looked really good from the vids I saw before it came out. The game really does suck. There's hardly any moves, so everyone does the same stuff, and the AI is atrocious. How can Sonjay Dutt take 20 rematches to win, when I can defeat AJ, Nash and Joe all on the first try? Seriously, there's no excuse for the computer to be reversing EVERY move you try and do, even a punch. The amount of damage reversals do is daft too. You go from green to orange in the space far too quickly, meaning you end up resorting to running away from their finishers, hitting chair shots and trying to tap guys out before you get pinned. I'm determined to finish it though, as I think I only have Angle and Jarrett left to beat. If it was like a real TNA show, the Jarrett match would feature numerous run-ins and ref bumps.
