The best I got was somewhere around 269000 and I am just wondering what are some tips to get 300000 in one go?

tailbite on the level with the barracuda and you can score points until you fall asleep.

bite his tail and move up, he will turn around to see what it was.  bite his tail again from the other side and you can repeat this process at least 70 billion times and each bite increases in score.  very easy achievement
