This game provides 'difficulty' by cheating the die rolls rather blatantly. Is there any way to disable this and get an honest game from the computer?

No lie, it makes awful moves but always has perfect rolls. I can't tell you how many times I've been barred to roll the only two spaces he's on 3+ times. This game has terrible AI.

I'm surprised there are not more comments on this aspect of Hardwood Backgammon.
The "Program" roll-of die during on-line games is the worst; unbalanced of any on-line backgammon game I have played.

there are not many comments because the subject has had many opinions over the years. it's split about 50/50 for users and the programmers claim it is random and that people will always complain.

i've played thousands of online hardwood matches and thousands of backgammon matches using dice. some of the online roll sequences are not consistent with what i have seen using real dice imho.
