Just found out that Jake Gyllenhall is playing the part of The Prince in the new up and coming Sands of Time movie. Was wondering what everyone was thinking? I mean surely they could of got some one that's ... well a little less geeky and a bit more butch for the part, In my opinion he doesn't seem right for it.... but who knows by the day after tomorrow I may have changed my mind and be happy that he has got the role :)

he has bulked beyond recognition, i was the same as you didnt think he would fit, i still just think donnie darko any time i see him, but he might work out well, he is undeniably a good actor

Agreed! he is a good actor, Donnie Darko is an awesome film.... just not sure about this role for him. Although Ive just looked at how much he has bulked up.... bloody hell Im inpressed.

Just can't imagine the Prince of Persia coming from Brokeback Mountain. Sorry. Hard to imagine he'll be ripped enough to do the role. Maybe Chastity Bono?

Maybe it's just me, but the prince wasn't that bulky or ripped in Sands of Time.  He's more of an acrobat anyhow, not some steroid freak (i.e. Chris Redfield, Gears of War dudes).  He was kinda bulky in Warrior within, but not exactly a big dude.  What's more important to me is that he be able to portray the prince's naive sensibilities about the world and difficulty grasping humor- taking himself too seriously.  I was always amused how Farrah thought he was such a bore at times. 

I find it funny that you are concerned he played in broke back mountain, but YOU are concerned with a man looking ripped in a movie.  You have to admit that's funny.

DUDE! watch jarhead you will see how big he is now he is in my opinion to big to play the prince, but with some serious fake tan, a nice beard and some wavey scarf around his nuggin he might just hit the nail of the head!

Yeah Yeah.  I know.  After seeing some trailers, though, he seems to fit the role nicely!  As long as he falls in love with Farrah and not the Visier, it'll be okay.  Ruin the plot otherwise.  Sorry, those jokes are all in bad taste and I'll stop (except the chastity bono one).

Accually she isn't Farrah it is a different princes, i watched a video a while ago that said it didn't want to add all the stuff from the games although the princes in the movie is like Farrah. also the prince has a name now which means trickster in some language. this is going to be an awesome movie i can not wait to see it. i mean it has the action from runing around on buildings and stuff like you saw from trailer.
