WRONG!

This has gotten to me so much, I figured i'd thread my opinions on this matter.
 
Why are you complaing about a wide choice of games to buy? You don't like it? Don't buy it.

I for one, am more than happy I have so much choice when I paid £150 for the big World Tour Band pack last year.

Anyone else agree with me on this, 'cause all I ever see on these forums are "Activision and Neversoft are money grabbing." "They bring out too many games."

What you guys all think anyway?

Applying that logic all games companies are money grabbing, if there was no money to be made no-one would make games.

I agree with you AlecDuffin if you don't like it don't buy it.

I like having choices. What I don't like are new "improved" controllers when I already have a closet full of them. Other than that, I can't see why anyone would want to complain about the many different games out there.

i kinda actually think they are rushing them,and making poor song choices.World Tour was close to not having enough songs that appeal to me,and now GH5 has *** for songs.I wish they would take like 2 years and make a really good game

To further my argument, what I was getting at about paying £150 for the World Tour Band pack was that i'd like to be able to get as much out of it as possible.

As far as song choice goes, that's down to one of 2 things, techincality and preference. I expressed my disdain for Rock Band 2 including songs from Panic at the Disco and Paramore, and even fans of the two agreed that they are not techincally good enough for these games. So what I mean is, because you haven't heard of a band or song, it doesn't mean they/it wont be amazing to play with.

Techincally speaking, there are are bound to be a lot of songs in Guitar Hero 5 that are worth playing, even if you may not be a fan of said bands.

Yeah if Activision is "milking the series" then RB is now on the same level.

RB:B+RB:ACDC=GHM+GHA
RB:U(with (recycled) dlc)=GH handhelds
Lego RB=Band Hero

So how about this, neither company is milking!

Its not like it's hard to make these games in comparison to Halo or Elder Scrolls, music games require a fraction of the art, and doesn't have to deal with nearly as much developing.

So why should it take a year for a music game, when it also takes a year for Call of Duty?

Personally, I would be happier with more band license games than compilations like Guitar 1,2,3,WT & Smash Hits. While I thought that Arrowsmith was way to easy, I think that Metallica is still my personal favorite. I would like to see more band specific games. Most notably: Pantera, Tool (Yes I know that they are in WT, but a whole game would be awesome), Megadeth, Led Zeppelin, Manson, Ozzy, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. And of course, Slayer.

I'd buy them either way, I bought Metallica and i'll probably be getting Van Halen (not a fan of either bands to be honest) but I do prefer the compilations purely for the mix. IF they brought out a Queens of the Stone Age game, my GOD would I be happy.

Really, when people say GH is milking their franchise that's just an ignorant statement. Releasing new GH games is basically like releasing more DLC except It's cheaper for the consumer, more expensive to produce, and comes with new features. So why do HMX fanboys complain so much?
Because
A.They like starting fight for no reason
B.They don't know what they are talking about
C.Don't like switching discs

Well done :) That was going to be my next argument haha. I really don't get the whole "fan boyesque" thing with Guitar Hero and Rock Band. They are basically exactly the same thing, except Guitar Hero has more features and Rock Band has more songs.

Man, there indeed are too much guitar hero games these days... i haven't even set up the drum set from GHWT that there's a new one .... and i ain't talking about GH smash hits ...

Oh well, i just wish i had more time to play and they make beter setlists .... GHWT was the worst IMO... La bamba ??? bring back that band from GH2 .. how was it called ... yes we can....

At least the peripherals work for all the games. So you dont need to buy new everytime.
And i like a nice range of choice. After all everyones music choice is different so you need a wide range!

Lot of good points made here. I do agree though there are way too many GH games and knockoff games based off of GH (i.e: Band Hero, DJ Hero, Rock Revolution). Metallica is still my favorite of all the RB and GH games because it is challenging but fun at the same time. Van Halen looks good tho, I may get it later on in the year.

Still, I don't know why these guys come out with new instrument controllers every year. I still have my X-Plorer controller from the GH2 release for Xbox 360. Only because it's the only controller I need right now.

Daaaarn, the X-plorer guitar peripheral is durable...I pounded that thing like heck (for the lack of a better word) and it still never broke!

On another note...I pounded the strum bar for my strat controller in (I was pounding it because of response problems) then I repaired it by opening it up and pushing it back out then it worked like butter again!  Oh, and yes I was having that unresponsive strumbar problem, which would be what caused me to pound in the strumbar and then open it up and push it back out to get it to work better again!

I also agree with the fact that more games = less cost for the consumer from DLC.

I like that there's more than one. You can choose them based on the playlists and stuff. If you don't like the playlist on one, you might like the other. And if you don't like all the games you can just shut up and not buy the damn thing like you said.

It takes 2 years for Call of Duty, one year it's a excellent game from Infinity Ward, the next it's crap from Treyarch.

Lets just say I prefer discs to DLC.

Theres about £50 worth of DLC I want for RB2, which is about 48 songs. I could get a brand new sequel like GH5 with nearly twice as many songs for £40. Even the side games like Metallica and Smash Hits have the same amount of songs, but are cheaper.

Also, people say that there are too many Guitar Hero, but not many people complain about the 360 being flooded with shooters? There are only a few developers actually developing music games, and i'm sure we would complain if we only got a small amount of music games a year. If there were lot of developers making music games we would have the same amount of music games, but made by more developers. So I think that HMX and Neversoft are just filling that gap.
