How did YOU first discover Super Puzzle Fighter?
Every so often when I get the chance, I like to just sink into a couch, turn on the old 'Boxy, and get a few rounds of Puzzle Fighter in.  The last time I logged in and was waiting to join a match and suddenly I was matched with a familiar player who I remember playing with about a year ago.  What a surprise!  It got me thinking, "I wonder how long he or she has been playing Puzzle Fighter and how they first discovered the game?"

My question to the SPF2T community, how did YOU first discover Puzzle Fighter?  We want to know...no matter however odd, boring, or awesome your story is!

I'll start.  It is a rather plain story.  A friend during high school introduced me to Puzzle Fighter.  It was around a year or less after Puzzle Fighter was first released to our local arcade.  I remember entertaining myself with Killer Instinct and my friend wanted to show me a game.  It looked a bit kiddie at first.  "Colored blocks?  It's not even Street Fighter.  I LOOKS like Street Fighter but it's not.  There are just two SF caricatures in the middle of the screen."  My friend chose Ken and he recommended that I use Donovan.  He promptly stomped me two rounds in a row.  It was at that moment that I was inspired to get as good as my friend was at Puzzle.  It was also the beginning of my lifelong addict- I mean "enjoyment" with this very fun game.

Haha, nice! I found it through my brother, who got it for the playstation. I enjoyed the game but was quite terrible at it. When my brother went off to college, taking his ps with him, I turned to Puzzle Pirates, an developed an "enjoyment" upon finding that one of the puzzles was very similar to puzzle fighter. Just recently I found this on the xbl arcade, coming full circle.

Re: How did YOU first discover Super Puzzle Fighter?
my parents bought this life time hotel vacation deal so every year i would go with them for a week at the same hotel and the place can get preety boring, they have this old arcade inside with some pretty old machines that have been there forever like tekken 1 and mortal combat 1 and those old soccer games, but 1 t hing made the place worthwhile and that was the puzzle fighter II arcade machine!
i spent a sllot of time playing  the medium and then hard mode every year when we went there not knowing anything more then the fact that you need to match bricks, i had no idea what attack pattern mean and i dont even think i knew that you can drop the bricks faster by pressing up :(
i had the gba version on a emulator but it just moved to slow and looked bad.
when i finally got a xbox 11 months ago i decided to buy the game and to my suprise  i was able to catch up pretty quick and as soon as i beat the hard mode i went online .
this year i decided to go back to that hotel and finish the game "on the machine"  for the first time with just 1 coin but when i got there the machine was dead, and i didn't get to say my final goodbye ;_;.
its matching patterns in heaven now.

Re: How did YOU first discover Super Puzzle Fighter?
We found this game in our local arcade in high school back in 95 - 96. We woul go there after school veryday and line up to play. We would pop our quarters on the game and wait to okay the winner. We would always play this guy that we called the cowboy. He was called this because eveytime be was about to win he would step back and lasso in the air. After high school we were lucky to find it at the UCLA arcade where we would go play it all the time. After that we would do puzzle fighter tournaments. One year we had upto 16 entrants. And now I foun out about it on the ps3 and the xbox has it. More people play it on the xbox so I have both systems basically just to play puzzle fighter.

My cousin had one of those demos disks for the playstation and it was on there. We played it over and over all night. It's amazing how much fun just a demo can be. lol
