This game is absolutely awesome!!!!! 53 Levels, 170 weapon variations, massive enemies over 20 stories high, hundreds of enemies on the screen at once, fully destructible environment,  and much more.  Holy crap I have seriously never seen more explosions or enemies on the screen at once in any 360 game like this game has!   Yeah the graphics are little lower than standard and the gameplay is a bit repetative but who cares....Its extremely fun and very addictive!!!!  I have beat the game on easy and on norman.  Now I am making my way through on the hard setting.  You can blow up EVERYTHING you see anywhere in the game. 

Also the difficulties arent stackable so you will have to play through on all 5 difficulties if your just going for achievements. Doing that will take around 75-100 hours.   This game was easily worth $39.99. You can also allow a co-op partner to join in any levlel via split screen.  I highly recommend everyone at least try it out and dont listen to the reviews. Some of the weapons are sick. I currently have a rocket launcher that shoots out 30 homing rocket launchers within a couple seconds. There are just more guns in this game than you will ever use and some of the more advanced weapons are insane.  You can even set out turrets and activate them to automatically kill enemies.  You can also control mechs, tanks, and helicopters but most of the time they arent very useful.

I will be getting videos of this game this weekend for sure.   I am also so happy to see they finally made a forum for us!! Its the best $39.99 I have spent in a long time.

Yeah this game is better and more fun than it's getting credit for. It's no Gears of War but it's still a fun game and worth the $$$.

Yes I was very surprised. I bought it based on a review I read where the author said it was the first game he spent 12 hours "evaluating". Me (35yrs old) and my son (9yrs old) spent 7 straight hours playing the game after buying it yesterday. There's a bunch of little things I could complain about, but the bottom line is, it's a whole lot of fun.

Stand on the beach and watch the giant red ants come bowling towards you in large numbers and then tell me this game is not next gen.

 

People who moan about the visuals can blow it out their a$$, they're talking rubbish.

 

The game is arcadey. I can definitely imagine this gameplay utilised in a coin-guzzling arcade machine.

Lost Planet had a quickie with Bullet Witch and this lovely mutant of a game was the result.

 

Excellent. And it's cheap too. Winner.

One of the best games on the 360. I've spent more hours playing this game than any orther game out of the 15 or 20  I own. This game has everything you could want in a video game. Any shooter fan should NOT MISS this game. Off line co-op too !!! This game should have won sleeper hit of the year for 2007. I read a number 2 is in the making , Hope so!!!! 

I hope there is a number two, as that would be very cool.

I haven't played it in a while and I was working on fininshing the first two difficulties.

World Wide Web-The Ebb and Flow.

I can't even begin to describe how much I loved this game when I picked it up. I found it used for about $20 and it provided my friends and I with countless hours of fun. I think ultimately the factor that pulled us all in was the simplicity of the game as a whole. It plays out like a cheesy B Sci-Fi movie, but you still find yourself pumped up about defending Earth from a combination of baddies ranging from movies like Starship Troopers, Godzilla, Evolution, and Star Wars. It just gives so much entertainment and is playable for everyone from a newbie to the gaming world to a seasoned vet who has spent years blowing awaying bugs and demons.

Its nice to hear that people are still loving this game.  Especially since it has been out well over a year now and the word seems to be spreading more and more about this sleeper hit.

My Forza 2 cars My gf and I have our own 360s

Yeah, it is good to see that more people seem to be playing the limited copies that are out there.  I know I've got a half dozen friends interested in it -- but dang if it didn't take beating them over the head to actually sit down and play it.  Once they do they all love it, but getting them there has been difficult at times.

This game has horrible production value, but it's so damn fun that it doesn't even matter. I paid $13, but I honestly would have bought it for $60.

Damn though, didn't know the achievements weren't stackable. I played most of the levels on different difficulties :(.

I just don't get the whole "this game has horrible production value" thing.  While it isn't a triple-AAA title, it is not even close to as bad as some big budget titles out there.  Aside from the little things that might be considered wrong with the game (spiders webs shooting through some buildings/cave walls), it really isn't that bad.

All of which aside -- the game is DAMN FUN.

Why does nostalgia gaming have such a following?  Because while those games might have lower production values compared to many modern games -- they also had a higher fun factor because that was what the development was about, not about the production value.  If the game suffers because of crappy production, sure, worry about it, but if it is as good as EDF and is as FUN, I have nothing to complain about.

Pity Oneechanbara Vortex isn't coming to the 360.  I would very much like to see that one stateside.

Indeed, some very recent news which I saw last night.  It is about bloody time.

I bought the game back in May for $20.  I've seen it on clearance as low as $10 at some stores in the last few months.

 

After putting 50+ hours of gameplay into it, I would have to say that I wish I had gotten the game when it first came out last year.  As a fan of mindless arcade shooters, this game has been a pleasant surpise.  If the sequel does come to the US, I'm buying it on release day.

   I agree the gameplay was HORRIBLE, but you know what. IT IS SO BAD ITS GOOD! I mean the graphics are cheesy. and the game and everything. But it's that cheesiness that makes it so funny and so much fun to play! When I first played it with a friend I was like..... This is a stupid game. When I saw the giant ants and how you could destroy buildings I was like thats sweet. I laugh and the graphics and gameplay. I get 50% of my fun making fun of it while im playing it. It's a rare game you can MAKE FUN of and STILL LOVE IT!

Yeah, it's a horrible game.  Premise is cheap, monsters are silly, vehicles are worthless.

Yeah it's ADDICTING AS ALL GET OUT.    Great to pop in for an hour here and
there, no worries about keeping track of the story, just shoot shoot shoot.

Yeah I bought this game a few days ago, knowing that it was a low budget game, and I thought it would be good for a few laughs and some acceptable co-op. BOY was I wrong....THIS GAME IS GREAT! Sure the story is a little lacking and the levels get somewhat repetitive but the gameplay is amazing. Soo many great guns, vehicles, and stackable health (armor).

I am so glad I got this game and I also convinced a few of my friends to get it. Inferno mode is sooo challenging but so rewarding when you finally beat a level on it.

I am in the process of running through the game on Inferno with the Genocide gun...  Let me just say very, very challenging but fun as h3ll!!!

Yeah I'm on my second time through on Inferno...  Only thing is that the Genocide gun does not damage starships or spawn mounds so it is not quite as easy as I thought it was going to be.
