DLC Question
I have looked through several pages and i did not see this question asked, if it has I apologize.

I see the large DLC pack for 2400 points, but there are several small add ons also. Are these the DLC broken down in pieces or are they additional content?  If they are, are they worth getting?

Thanks

Re: DLC Question
A little late but if your still wondering, no they are all separate. The large one is actually an official expansion that is on a disk for the PS2 version. It adds new characters and their stories, ups the level limit to 70, adds a new mode called mercenaries, and a few other things. The small add ons are really just unlocks, im not sure if they are just quick ways to unlock things already in the game or exclusives because they are familiar to me and ive played about 93 hours of the PS2 version. As much as i hate to say it i would recommend the expansion but you need to be a fan to enjoy it past the new stories so its price can be a bit of a hitch.

Re: DLC Question
I just bought it the other day and have played with it installed and have had no problems yet. I have never played the PS2 version but im guessing that was a unique problem.

To answer specifically

The 2400 point DLC isn't a pack - this really is much more than an expansion...  in the past (and in japan for this one at least) they released this as a seperatly sold game...  i just started playing through it and just off the top of my head, here are the additions i'm seeing at least 100 hours of game play from the following

- 5 new playable characters
- new 100 level play mode called Mercenary, you start out as a soldier for a lord and work your way up the ranks on battle-field maps that increase in difficulty as you go along, you can use any of your officers
- 5th weapon for all character, this is in addition to the 4th weapons that can be unlocked with the regular game, each of the 5th weapons have certain requirements to get
- level capped raised to 70
- guard level cap raised to 30 (i think), plus stat increases
- new equipment customization options...  you can obtain power-up orbs by completing certain battle, these orbs can turn your 4th and 5th weapons into super weapons (you need these for the following)
- new difficulty, above/harder than Chaos, called Expert (so far impossible for me, need more orbs - lol)

just to unlock everything and power up all the characters weapons with orbs will likely take me a couple hundred hours - it is worth the download price

The other DLC, which includes horses, body guards, and features for the On-line game (that no one plays) are good if you need them.   I grabbed the horses since they are the most powerful ones to get and extremely difficult to unlock normally, and basically can make the game really really easy..  i'm a horse nut.   The body guards, my vote is still out...  I only have about 1/2 the body guards maxed out and can't yet comment on how good the download ones are.  As for the on-line game stuff, if your playing this on-line, i'm sure you will want that stuff.

Will I need to download or just keep playing the game?

Re: DLC Question
Outcast - you might want to grab that horse 'Matsukaze' - it makes killing overpowered generals with a low level character really, really easy - the horse sets things on fire when it runs into them and does big damage, and you can run around the battlefield and get 100s of kills just by running over the peons
Wink [;)]

Sure you could unlock this horse just by playing the game, but it takes alot of work and seems to be tied in with getting most all of the other horses first, some of which require some difficult survival missions to unlock

Actually, it's Persian Mare that sets enemies on fire.
