Official Announcement for New Game!
A couple of things:  It says 12 all new player avatars coming to this game, so no guarantee we can use the MS avatars.  Doesn't mention any online multiplay, just party play but could indicate local.  Next, it is not 360 exclusive, it is now PS3 and Wii as well.  And lastly, it is made by Artificial Mind & Movement (Creators of WET).  We might have a good game here, could go either way.  I am glad MS lost the rights to it.

Screenlife today announced the latest home console iteration of the bestselling Scene It?® brand. Scene It?® Bright Lights! Big Screen!™ will be the first videogame in the Scene It? franchise available for Wii™ and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment systems and marks a return for the brand to the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system from Microsoft. Previous success on the Xbox platform combined with casual gaming’s explosive growth create a tremendous opportunity for Screenlife to bring its unique brand of entertainment trivia game play to millions of new consumers.

Scene It? Bright Lights! Big Screen! offers a wide variety of media-rich trivia that provides movie fans and social gamers with a lively, competitive group gaming experience. Trivia content in the game will include recently released 2009 movies as well as fan favourite Hollywood hits from the last four decades. There are numerous game improvements, including:

  • Thousands of new questions
  • A new and improved single player option
  • Party play modes
  • Many new puzzle types
  • 12 all-new player avatars
  • A simplified game interface
  • A new, entertaining game host
  • New, unique mini-game content

Scene It? Bright Lights! Big Screen! brings it all together and provides incredible fun for the whole family. Single-player mode challenges player speed and entertainment trivia know-how, while multi-player mode creates a challenging social gameplay experience.

Also today, Screenlife and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WBIE) announce a distribution agreement where WBIE will handle worldwide distribution of Scene It? Bright Lights! Big Screen!

“We are thrilled to collaborate with WBIE on the release of Scene It? Bright Lights! Big Screen!,” said Barry Watts, Chief Executive Officer of Screenlife. “Combining WBIE’s world-class distribution expertise with our most entertaining console trivia game to-date, Scene It? Bright Lights! Big Screen! is sure to be a smash hit with movie and pop-culture fans of all ages.”

“The globally successful Scene It? brand and movie based trivia are a great fit for Warner Bros. as a games publisher and a film studio,” said John Quinn, Executive Vice President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “We are launching Scene It? Bright Lights! Big Screen! on a variety of videogame consoles to more widely offer its dynamic entertainment experience to the expanding casual videogame audience.”

Artificial Mind & Movement (A2M) is developing Scene It? Bright Lights! Big Screen! for Screenlife.

Re: Official Announcement for New Game!
Without use of XBOX live avatars this game would be step back.  New games are suppose to add features not take them away.  Oh well I will look forward to having new questions.

Re: Official Announcement for New Game!
anyone read if it will use the big button controllers. I've only seen it listed for 39.99 so i'm thinking since you can't buy it with controllers it won't use them. BIG step back if this is true. I might not want it.

The reason i speculate that it won't use them is the multiplatform. It's more complicated for them to program the game totally different for xbox users....

At least they're not promising DLC this time. I guess they've learned: Promising DLC + Not delivering it = Pissed off gamers. No more Scene it for me anymore.

Game have it listed on December 4th for £17.99.

So it might not be online? Who cares. That just makes the achievements easier lol. 1,000's of new movie trivia questions for under 20 quid...... Bargain! I've got mine pre-ordered.
