How does this compare to mx vs atv untamed
So after playing mx vs atv....i am now wanting another game in a big free roam similar to mx vs atv....and one with splitscreen....this has 4 player which is even better...Btw i loved mx vs atv a lot and i think this is the same developer

So the big question is, is this game as god dam hard as mx vs atv...i hated how hard that game was...supercross and nationals were impossible in higher levels...id love for it to be a little easier

is the acutal racing more arcade? I know there are sim things in it such as breaking parts ..ect...i sorta want the handleing to lean more to arcade, mx vs atv was pure sim and it pissed me off how hard it was

graphics better then mx vs atv? mx vs atv were fine but ...better is good

Lastly does anybody at all play online

This seems fun to play around with 4 people offline on free roam

Re: How does this compare to mx vs atv untamed
this game sucks, i expected it to be somewhat polished like mx/atv but its not, It feels like a crappy budget psone game.

BUT...............  if you are really into off road racing this game is entertaining.  There are alot of tracks and race types.

I think what would of made this game better was if they spent more time on it.  The graphics are awful, the racing is awful but overall, the game has alot of potential. feels somewhat rushed.
Maybe baja edge of control 2 will implement some of the lessons learned from this shortfall.

Re: How does this compare to mx vs atv untamed
I was in your boat, I simply loved Untamed, and was very excited for this to come out (same developers).  After firing it up the first time, I was disappointed.  However, after a couple of hours, the game gets fun as you learn to control your vehicle.  And now am glad I made the purchase.  I play it more than Untamed.

There are some downfalls to the game that I still can't get over and still bug me a lot:

#1 The graphics, Untamed's models and world graphics are just better, they are more realistic and sharper, not sure why the developers choose this, but I assume it was for performance reasons because the maps are so huge.  I wish I could screenshot both Untamed and this game for a side by side comparison.

#2 No replay, this is simply a WTF were they thinking when they release the game.

#3 100% MS Steering Wheel support.

This game is a lot of fun, but just a little bit more polish and it could easily be my #1 in my library.

Re: How does this compare to mx vs atv untamed
the screenshots seemed to have better graphics when i looked before...o well they must of polished them...

What do you mean no replay value? ....i do have friends/bro that might wanna play some of this with this game being the only racer to support 4 player split....we also would like to explore everything...

And is there ANYBODY ever online? there still is some on mx vs atv so i hope it would be for this

Re: How does this compare to mx vs atv untamed
I never get why people whine about graphics like gez your playing a game not watching a movie and it should be about the game play no matter what it looks like as those are extra perks. So many games these days lack so much but its because they work on graphics as thats what they want and then they wonder why the games crap gezzz but in this game i say there better then mx as when your going 100+ on a small section of road with your truck all over the place your not really looking at how a shrub looks.

But off my rant on that topic.Pretty much you just need time with this game.Onec you get use to it you'll probelly love it as the only bad things i've heard about this game are the people who either can't drive or buy a game expecting to be a expert because there amazing at halo or cod.If your looking to compair it to mx i'll say it like this. Its night and day as mx is very arcadey and un realistic and baja well its one of the  closest "simulator"(not calling it one really) to a offroad game i've played to date as the trucks, cars bugeys actully hook on ruts, suspension actully look, work and feel like a real offroader, you gotta actully run the correct lines or the ais will catch and pass you as the ai are actully good and finally a challange in a game and i could go on but i'll stop here.As i said you gotta put time into the game as you need to learn how to drive each of the classes as they each have there own feel.If your a fan of offroad etc you'll most likely love the game as i even play with some real drivers of the baja online and they love it as it keeps you on the edge the whole time and you actully gotta pay attention.

im assuming that means its harder then mx vs atv.......nationals and supercross in that game were 100% impossible at any higher difficulty in tournament.....i thought the impossible diffculty was the downfall. Also i thought mx vs atv as a complete sim....no arcade in it.....i thought pure of an obvious arcade which is not debatable

Re: How does this compare to mx vs atv untamed

Well the first one was good for its time but the online was the downfall and why everyone traded it in and its not bad of a game then the next one its just they don't improve it and just put new maps and expect everyone to spend like 60$ on a copy at least thats how alot of us saw.If you think that games a sim you gotta get out there in real stuff.I ride quads and bikes and been in a buggey and there nothing like mx at all i mean in a real life a car dose'nt fly into the stands from a small jump as they do in a game and monster trucks don't flip from a dip in a road haha.

Baja its not "hard" its just you gotta put time into it to get use to it as i don't know how many people i've heard hate it for the handeling then love it onec they got use to it.

HAHA this is great....Did anyone in here even play the game? You CANNOT compare BAJA to MXvsATV....you cant so it?

Its like comparing Halo 3 to Rainbow 6 Vegas.....Sure there both shooters?

BAJA is a SIM you will be challenged to play it. People like to say the game is broken, just because they cant get the controls down.

IT IS NOTHING LIKE MX.

Not as in "replay value", I meant replay as in watch the recorded race you just finished.  As in replay value, there is TONS! :-)

It's not the "shrubs" that bug, its the vehicle models.  Way low-rez compared to MX vs. ATV.  The vehicle models you are looking at, not the shrubs or environment.

+1, give it some time, the realism of the handling is what I go back for every time.  It was frustrating at first, but now its the best part of the game.
