I just finished this one too - very frustrating battle.
1. Send your thanes to shut off the passage to the right - use the song to assist.
2. Running towards the beach should get your thanes to meet the enemies quickly. Once they do run back to the relic and wipe up any enemies that get through.
3. Send 3 thanes to start working on the boulder. This may take a bit to get the timing right, but get it to roll just as the enemies are coming up the path. Save one boulder for the trolls as this will really speed things along. You can pull you thanes off the boulders at 90% to make things much easier.
4. Use carnal on the trolls if need be and grapple them to death. Be very careful with carnal around the relic - you can do damage to it.
5. For the final wave of enemies call your thanes to you and just combo away. Stay close to the relic as this makes a good choke point. I used the legendary spear for this as it has a phenomenal area attack.
Be patient - this is a rough fight that takes good timing. Good luck!
