Problem with Ecco! Help!
I just bought and downloaded Ecco The Dolphin the other day. Weird thing is, when I play the game (the full version I just downloaded) its still the trial version. There's an option in the main menu which says "Unlock Full Game". I have to download the full game every time I play it. I've deleted it and re-downloaded it several times but the same thing happens =( Its as if the console hasn't recognized that I've purchased the full game.

I just noticed the same thing happen to me this weekend.  It was extremely annoying.  The same thing happened with Sonic also.  No matter what I did it would always act like the trial version.  Ugh ...
I'm posting in online forums ... somebody shoot me.

I'm having the same EXACT problem. I've called xbox support 3times and no one has a clue what i'm talking about. We need to call i know it's a pain but if more call then they'll realize there's an issue. The keep focusing how i can't play my arcade games offline. I've lived with it b/c i've been on several xboxs some that were my brothers then i purchased my own so the licenses are all screwed up. Although that's disgusting and not my fault i JUST want to play ecco. I finally got the support line to focus just on this. We did maintenance check and redownloaded it still didn't work. I plan to call tomorrow about it with focusing just on this and will let you know what happens. This is really going to suck if  we just get rembursed but I really want the freakin game fixed, wait even more disgusting if it's not fixed and NOT rembursed.

Ok, so after 7 phone call to phone line support (that includes 2 disconnections when staff tried to send me elsewhere and one call i was told they were updated and call back after 24 hours) i finally talk to a supervisor. Now mind you all the staff but one were really polite and even with many being foreign i could totally understand them.  Anyway this supervisor was very polite too and seemed to try everything they can go through HOWEVER i just keep repeating and repeating and repeating the same thing. I exchanged a defective xbox with gamestop due to red lights.  So they keep focusing how i can't play my arcade games offline. Ecco you can't play the full verrsion online period. So i didn't think it was a liscense issue at all. The supervisor said yes it is.  So now AGAIN i had to fax over my receipts EVEN though the supervisor said they have the faxed copy. What is that about? I can't help but feel everything there is capartamentalized and not connected to one another. Then procedes to tell me now insteady of the "quick" fix for licenses returned again which took 5 weeks for me, now they have to "manually" enter it in which takes longer should be little less than a month. I have a feeling that's 2 months. So what since end of marcy april. A game i purchsed and had been playing continuously when oop out of nowwhere can't play the full version have'nt been able to play it for almost 3 months and probably if get anywhere will be  5months. That's disgusting. Now i can't remember if i purchased ecco before or after the new xbox. Either way on my curent one it WAS playing. I think they screwed up the game with these updates.

Ok xbox states it's licensing issue even though only 1 game seem effected. They had to renew supposedly my licenses 2x and now it's working!!!!! YEA!!!!!!!! but there seems to be a recent tool to fix this so i can't tell if maybe it just coincided with this timeframe to get it working. But at least it's working! The support line staff were very supportive except 1 person and 2 disconnections just annoying to do the same things over and over and over again. Like continually deleting ecco game, maintenence check and having to fax my exchange receipt 2x.  But it's here!!!

I had to fax my receipt that I owned the current xbox since I had to exchange one and initialy shared another with my brother. Then they reassigned all the licences back to my current xbox then I had to REDOUNLOAD EVERYTHING!!!!! Which was a lot but they work offline all my stuff and ecco is fine. So of really was a licence issue. Just extemely strange I bought of I thought recently at the time with my current xbox and was the only game saying trial game online!

The same happens to me on streets of rage 2. I am to lazy to make sure I did not origanally download the trial. I am going to try erasing it to redownload the full version instead of the trial and upgrading everytime.

Yeah, I have the same problem. I tried doing the "sign out then quickly sign in again" trick that works with Double Dragon, but it doesn't work here. I tried going in my download history and download the full game again, but it doesn't work. Still says trial. This is a total RIP OFF!! Why should we go through this? We paid for the darn game and now we have to deal with this, plus in several other games. They should fix this right away. Just because it's not a popular game that is at the top of the download charts doesn't mean we should go through this because some people might still like it, and they paid the full price for it. I wonder if in a couple of years games such as Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and Castle Crashers will have the same problem after some dashboard update and you only suddenly have the trial version, and you can't do anything about it. I LOVE XBLA games, but this is ridiculous. I guess the concept of downloading games still has a long way to go. I would never download new retail games after this, which is rumored for the next Xbox console. I'll stick with the physical disc, thanks.
