this guy is seemingly impossible, he can shape the board as he wishes with his spells, thus preventing you from having any turns and he does massive damage. and tips?

I think you can raise your stats, each can go to 255 via buying them from Temple...

you are limited to 100 points of temple buys in the original game. 120 points of temple buys once you get the expansion.  you had better be sure what your end stat breaks are before you start spending/buying points early on.

salright i got lucky and beat him. gustav, you seem to know what your talking about being up there on the leaderboards n all, where should i put my skill points for a good warlock

my warlock @ lvl 60 is inferior to the one being run by EightLuckyEight.  His has a Water mastery high enough to have a blue mana reserve of 200. He couples that with the Arvena reward ( a head artifact adds blue resistance equal to 1/2 your blue mana) and he can have a hero who is at %100 blue resistance (great against Stone gaze, stomp, flaming skulls etc. all of which are common sightings on the leader board build heroes). 

Just a suggestion.
