I love RPG'S, doesnt look like what what seems to have some of the features. I also love to explore and and am a fan of shooters. but in general is this a worthwhile buy when taking into account all factors?

This is not an RPG, but it is well worth getting if you like open world games and exploring.  The destructible environments rock and there is a lot of optional side missions that you can choose to play or not.  Plus you can find it for $30 to $40 right now. 

In addition to the single player, the Wrecking Crew mode and multiplayer both are really fun.

this is what i'm wondering too. my girlfriends younger brother has this game and i played the beginning mission the other night and it was fun as hell destroying buildings. i just got the feeling that it would get old. i want this game but i am not sure if it is worth buying now considering i just bought borderlands (which is aweseome) and will be getting MW2 soon.

I have had it for a couple of months and I'm getting sick of it.  The missions are a little repetitive and the landscape is kinda bland.  The destruction factor is cool (especially when you get into the walkers), but after a while once you seen 60 buildings crumble...It kinda gets old.

I really wanna get this, it looks hellofa lot better than mercs 2. Plus swingging around the hammer is cool too.

Its worth buying, maybe not the full $60 but if you can get if for $40-$50 definitely get it.
BTW don't think the demo is what the full game will be like.  The Red Faction Demo is one of the worst IMO
