what could have been...
The Last Remnant was a good game, that fell just short of a great game. With alot of minor problems such as the lack of showing a diffrence between skills, (quad slice costs 35 ap, and nimble dragon slice costs 44 ap...with no other diffrence or refrence to use.. your stuck picking the most costly skills.. hoping they are infact the most deadly.) allowing only for a few union or parties as we would normally call them (tons of people to use, only few precious spots to alocate however.) and the worst of them is the way you can drop 100 hours into this game and only walk away with 600 achievement points. I missed 2 quests somewhere throughout the game and now because of that i will never get the 'real' end boss nor the 'final' quest. Upon expection of what i missed from a guide, comparing quest for quest, i literally missed 2 quests which cost me 400 achievement points. Small things like this left a bad taste in my mouth, however overall.. its a great, must play RPG. Hope this helps if your thinking of buying or getting this game.. Cheers.

I disagree, but however, I play the PC version, which has some major changes, like no leader limit, no chaining "penalty," New Game+ (the ability to replay with reserved items and harder monsters), and what not. After playing for some time now, I find that the elements you had issues with were left out to keep the game more "streamlined." The game is complex, and I feel that the developers left out the details with the intention for you to enjoy the game rather than fretting over mechanics. I kind of think the 360 version was neutered, so I get your point. The PC version is much better. However, I feel that your achievement focus is partially at fault. Maybe you play games for achievements, but I play games for enjoyment (most I play on PC). Achievements, the way they are implemented and what they stand for, is more of a ego-driven marketing technique than a challenge to gamers imo. But hey, everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you love games and don't give a flying fart about achievements, then try the PC version--TLR is among the most complex JRPG's I've played, and that dates back to FF on NES.
