Easy Levelling and some tips
I've battled Dr. K on this account, haven't beaten him yet but I hope it's valid enough to say I can help here.

Lots of people here are recommending Gongora's cave.  While that is a good idea, some are not saying it's very difficult to beat enemies there.  This means if you are just starting or low level, there's really no way you can go there.

Pretty much there are two spells, most important in the entire game imo, Gamble and Reversa.  Both are Spirit Magic spells and Gamble is even a low level 2 spell that helps the entire game.

Gamble, Level 2 spell, can be aquired only from Tosca Village after playing a mini-game to activate 16 Keleon statues in under 5 minutes.

Gamble can be used on Numara Atoll on Silver Keleons.  Instant level up every battle you win for every party member.  Put Gamble on everyone in the party with accessories or with mages, in the skill set.  This way they can't flee without you getting a couple shots in.  Many times two will show up and flee right away.  If you exit to world map and come back in this helps.  You can also run around the island which is tiny.

This can become quite dull but after only two of these guys, you have 16 to 32 SP (if you have double SP from Sed), and 2 instant levels, not too mention they also carry a boatload of gold.  I've levelled up 4 times in one hour.  After a main mission, I just come back, fix myself a sandwich and do it again.

Numara Atoll also has Hellshakers.  Now these can be fun to fight at very high levels 50+ but they are really decoys with only 3SP and almost no gold.  When you see one, you can easily select: Flee from the left Dpad menu for the entire party and then continue walking around the island.  There's about 3 Hellshakers for every one Silver Keleon in early levels and much less with more Keleons around level 30.

Ok now, Hellish Keleons in the Secret Cave, and even worse in Dr. K's add on game.  Reversa is all you need.  Reversa is a Level 7 spell so it can't be acquired right away.  With regards to that, by the time you see a Hellish Keleon, Disc 4, you'll be close to getting it anyway.

You'll see during Disc 4 that the city of Numara is greyed out for sometime.  After some huge battles you'll be able to get back in the city.  Go to the Port of Numara and re-enter the city of Numara from that south side.  Go in and talk to an old man in the first house on the right walking north farthest away from where the bridge is still temporarily raised.

He'll give you a clue for Treasure #15 in your Pause menu list.  Go back to the port of Numara, turn left and go back to Ghost Town where Liara's funeral was.  Head through the path looking at your map for the typical Orange blinking icon, close to where the old church with the bell dream was.  Pick up Reversa there.

I'm amazed at how powerful just these two spells are.  And Gamble is unbelievable being so strong for only level two.  You can not hit one of these valuable Keleons without it.

Reversa, and awesome spell, destroys huge HP enemies in one blow.  The trick to this one is you have to enter a battle with low health or use it directly after you've been hit bad.  You're high HP is shot back at the enemy.

One other for battle is a white magic spell from Cooke known as Divide.  This is a level 8 spell you acquire much later in the Keleon Village during your Ocean voyages, trying to avoid a spoiler.  There are other great ones but these stood out to me the most.  Hope this helps.
What if...I became a Spectre? Conrad...I haven't been shot in the head nearly enough times to think that's a good idea.

Also I came back to say I don't want to critisize going to Gonghora's Secret Cave, it is an excellent place to level up and rare components to boot.

I'm just thinking of the new guy who may not be able to survive there...and Silver Keleons with Gamble do help, no matter what level.

Finally, Dr. K for those of you struggling as I am with the DLC boss, here's a great link, features Reversa:
