Gauging Interest in a TTR game night
Howdy all,

As we all know with this fantastic game, it can be a little difficult to find opponents regularly. I thought i would gauge interest in doing a Ticket to Ride game night, whereupon we select a night and time where a bunch of us log on and play to our hearts content.

Hopefully this would mean we could actually have some matches that aren't just 1 v 1! I'm figuring a Saturday night would probably be the best time for everyone but I'd be open to other days as well. I'd also like to know what/if any expansions everyone has as it would also be nice to get some 1910 and Europe matches in as well.

Additionally, would people be interested if I created a Ticket To Ride Gamertag that would act as an "opponent" finder.

Basically people who are interested and play TTR regularly and want an easy way to find friends can add the gamertag to their list and sinply view the TTR Gamertag to find an opponent. This way you could potentially have a pool of up to 99 other players to choose from, depending on how many GTs we get.

Then, all you would have to do is check out the TTR gamertags friend list and send an invite or a message to someone you were interested in getting a match with. It also helps keep your own gamertag from cluttering up with all kinds of GTs for one game.

Let me know what you think guys, I'm really looking to find some other great TTR players out there!

Betreff: Gauging Interest in a TTR game night
Hi,

basically I think that this is a great idea. Usually I'm playing just 1 or 2 games, so I wouldn't join you the whole night, but at least for an hour. But what is the timezone we are talking about. Maybe your Saturday night is already my Sunday morning. I'm in Germany. If we could set up a game night with more than just 1 vs 1 matches, that would be great.

I would be interested in this but am not usually available at the weekends. I tend to play weekday evenings (UK time).

I get bored of playing 1on1 all the time. Why do so many people only want to play this way!?

I really don't think it's a matter of wanting to play that way, rather that it's hard to find other people to play with, so once someone jumps in there's no sense in waiting on other players as you may lose the one you have.

I get what you mean and totally agree with you Gacy. The point I was making was that 75% of the games I seem to join, when someone is hosting, have 3 slots closed so there is no chance of any other players joining. At least wait a minute or 2!

Ah, I got ya. I really don't know then. Patience is a foreign concept in the online world, sadly.:/

Don't know if this thought is still active, but definitely count me in for a game night. I think that makes 4 of us. :)
