It depends on what you are up against. If you are against a water monster, use a ground attack.
Against fire, use a water attack.
Against ground, use a wind attack.
Against wind, use a fire attack.
What they said.
Usually mostly using that during the game and you'll come across a lot of enemies and bosses that just resist magic or reflect it back so at these times the casters are usually there for healing or support.
There is a lot of status aliment spells you have at your disposal but they're pretty much not that great exact for Sleep, which you'll use a couple times during the game. But, Force - Forcea - Forceus are pretty dependable. Later on in game might find yourself using Gamble, Leveler, or Divide a lot. They're semi-MP heavy but like I said later in game won't matter with the stuff you have equipped you can get MP back in no time.
But as the previous poster said, thats a good list to go by. Kelolon is mostly there to help rid of the Kelolon status aliment when its casted on you, other wise you do 1 damage both physical and magic including healing.
