Scary moments

I would like to know if there is a lot of those moments where a enemy pops out from nowhere. I would also like to know your scary moments.

My Scary moment
Yeah, that happens to me all of the time. One that I remember is when my friend and I were playing cod4 campaign on the bloc level and we were sitting really close to the screen and a dog popped up and we both shot back and shreiked little girls. Haha it was funny afterwards but we were pissing our pants at the time. Big Smile [:D]

This game is not scary at all. If you want to be scared play Condemned.

P.s. Did anyone play The Suffering on the original Xbox? That was pretty scary!

Only real scary moment for me was later right into the end of the game.

Finishing up the last of the roots I cam up to a rather large building in the bottom left corner of the map. Only way into the building is via the front door which immediately leads down some stairs towards the cellar.

I got to the foot of the stairways and it cut to a scene showing the lights at the part where the stairs took a left to continue downwards showing shadows and really freaky noises of humanz moving down in the cellar. The light bulb breaks and the whole place is pitch black.

Where my trusty flashlight runs out of battery.

F*** that I said and ran back to the car for some Batteries :D

Scariest game moment - F.E.A.R. - When your walking around in this path of water some weird thing pops out RIGHT in your face, either that or when your cralwing into the ventalation shafts and Alma(the little girl) cralws at you.

And yeah, there is moments in the game where if when your looking through random cars for Theophile or items right when you begin to exit a body smashes RIGHT onto your window, scares the *** out of me every time.

There's not a huge amount of 'scary' stuff in the traditional sense. However I did find myself squealing like a little girl while I was out root-hunting and one of the Humanz appeared out of nowhere and hit me. I ran away with it in hot pursuit. I don't know how long I ran for, but I was afraid to stop.

Why do people waste there time posting useless nonsense?

I enjoy this game and I am only a few chapters in, however there were serveral incidents that made me jump. Definately in the beginning when you are searching thru one of the cars and a body drops down onto the windshield. Also, there was a part driving thru the park in a small golf type cart and one of the tounge zombies threw a car at me from a distance, catching me completely off gaurd. Similar to the beginning when you are hanging from the side of the building and a car explodes from below and rises up and crashes right below your feet. Pretty neat stuff.

Games that have had scarry moments in the past are:

Silent Hill - Hearing the radio squelch and anticipating what was comming. Having the dead body fall out of the locker when you go to search it in the school. Those creepy disfigured nurses that jitter towards you.

Condemed Criminal Origins- Walking thru the department store and seeing some of the mannequins move slightly. Seeing the crazys run in front of you from out of the corners and hearing them breathing and snickering while they hide.

Doom 3 - Scarred out of your mind with the noises you hear but can't see beyond your flashlight beam.

My favorite moments:

The Suffering - Any monster designed by the great monster effects artist Stan Winston has to be scary. My favorite moment is when you are in the Operating Control Room for the electric chair and are looking thru the glass. There are two closed circuit monitors on both sides of the observation window and you keep catching a glimps of things moving thru the pictures as they pan to different cameras. One camera to the right shows a behind the head overhead view of your character looking at the monitor and out of the dark corner, silently sneeaking up on you, you can see a creature. I almost soiled my pants the first time I saw it. As you whip your character around waiting for the inevitable there is nothing there. SCARY!

Also there is a part right after this when you are in the room with the electric chair and are looking out at where the people viewing the electrocution sit. There are several dead bodies laying around out there and one finally animates and lunges for the glass. The glass however does not give and the inhuman continues to ram it with its body causing more and more damage. When you think you are safe from the monster, the glass finally gives and then the other undead begin to rise and come thru the shattered opening with an appetite for your flesh.

F.E.A.R. is good, but after a couple of levels you get a little bored of the little girl and she stops being even remotely scary. In fact she borders on the tedious.

I still need to finish that game actually...

Re: Sv: My Scary moment

Alone in the dark isn't that scary. I thought Bioshock was scarier than AITD lol.

At one point in Bioshock there's this dentists office and I walk in and find a dead splicer laying on a chair with fog all around it then I walked over to a desk and started jacking stuff off of it that I needed and then i was like "ok on to the next room i think i got everything from here..." by this time the room was full of mist/fog whatever you want to call it... anyway I turned around the mist vanished and right there in my face was a splicer.... I jumped back in my chair and blew that guy away with my shotgun that I had just gotten and I didn't stop shooting even after he was on the ground I went through 20 rounds of shotgun shells before i finally continued on....

There were a few other spots too but that just scared the crap out of me for a little bit lmao.

The scariest thing about Resident Evil is the voice acting.........i had to cover my ears and cower in a corner.

Any part of The Suffering scared me, just picking up the phone and listening to the ghosts talk was scary. and those crazy things hanging from the ceiling! I also liked the fact if you did bad things, your character morphed into an evil looking SOB.

I think some of the scariest parts for me were having to fight those nemesis type humanz (the ones that throw the spikes) and find out there was another around the corner. Another was having to find the roots in the small area of central park where you couldn't take any cars. Freaked me out when I killed one and like seven humanz popped out from nowhere.

Re: Sv: My Scary moment
Last night I don't think I couldn't have been more freaked out when playing Alone in the Dark, and what made it so great is that it wasn't any scares from scripted moments in the first half of the game.

This was around Episode 6 to 7 when they let you loose on Central Park to destroy 'The Roots of Evil' in order to continue on with the main storyline. There was actually a good couple moments where I was running scared, bleeding, and not even twenty bullets in magnum (ammo and leftover combined) stock was left.

1.) There is a section of the park where a couple roots of evil are situated within a small ranger station on the easternmost side: containing three roots, rooms full of lockers and ample supplies, a med station, and one room with a prison cell. Shortly after finding a glass bottle with some flammable liquid,  I poured some on the small amount of ammo left for my 44. Magnum and proceeded to bust down the metal door blocking entrance.

The hallway was dark, and with little battery life left in my flashlight I proceeded into the building...to discover Humanz pulling themselves out of the ground and rushing me! I fired some bullets off and killed the weaker of the two by burning their fissures, but its companion smacked me into the wall. Pushing myself off the ground and my enemy making its way over to pummel me I rush into a room and snag some mosquito spray, burning him outright with the flamethrower combination. "It's over" I say triumphantly, and walk over to a tight area for some supplies only to hear more grunting and get attacked once again. After nearly soiling myself I burn this enemy and proceed  with business. (So it may not sound as bad as I describe, but play at 3 in the morning in complete darkness)

2.) After burning all the roots that you can prior to uncovering the secrets at the Old Castle, I searched for transport in order to get back to my destination in one piece. Running past a previous point for a root, I notice about four to five Humanz wandering around awaiting some unlucky prey, but due to my distance in the fog they fail to notice my existence as I run from afar to a taxi on my mini-map. Unfortunately, one indeed did see me and the whole party followed suit...which I failed to notice until I get into the car and find that my door is ripped off while I am in the process of hot-wiring it.

Pulled out of my escape vehicle and thrown around like a ragdoll, I dash for dear life to another vehicle because the only thing in my inventory at this point is twelve fire bullets in a handgun and an empty plastic bottle. Running across a field I get into another car, hot-wire it, and just as I start to drive one jumps on the hood (which I shake). But was it over? Oh no, one decides to smack the tail end of my car and send it flying across the field 360 degrees, and at this point because I'm so terrified I floor it and hope that never, ever, happens again. Or do I? Big Smile [:D]

3.) After returning to the Old Castle and locating the symbols placed all around the premises I climb to the roof to discover one of the stronger Humanz, the seven foot tall enemies that launch projecticles and punch as hard as they are to eliminate. After defeating it I suffered so much damage to one cut that it proceeded to bleed, and the timer counted down. Finishing the episode and continuing anyway, I still had to mend the cut with a bandage. Now you don't know tension until having to curb blood loss, finding a car to hot-wire, and then the closest place with a med station is blocks away (mentioned in #1) while trying to drive through wreckage and Humanz pummeling the car.

Reaching the place I previously ventured into, the door was somehow blocked again with a metal door. And with no flammable bottles around I used a nearby vehicle and ignited the gas tank to bust the door down. Guess what? Humanz came out of the ground and I fended them off with the remaining med-spray I had, and bandaged my wounds with seconds to spare. Good stuff.

4.) Many times over the course of driving through the park I was attacked and/or flipped over wreckage, and managed to leap out of the vehicle seconds before it careened off the fissure and into the abyss. This happened a good amount of times and I felt rather accomplished during this and all the other instances I had to use everything around me to survive.
