Well, since everyone under position 200 on the overall leaderboards uses a modded controller, you won't be getting much of a challenge will you? Why don't you ask someone who can play the game well without cheating?

yeah hi discoverer of mod pad here and im telling u that u need to be a top 200 player in order to use the mod pad effectivly, it is a step up for the pro's as its harder to control, if mod pad wasnt discovered  then lboard positions would be pretty much exactly the same as they are now, if u consider urself a good player then mod ur pad and u will have more fun and get the most out of the game, if not then stop dissing those that are the best at the game, it really isnt cheating, the game was programmed so the ball goes faster at a 45 degree angle, just as it was for the original pc game.

No, I'd rather use what I'm given in the game to get the most out of it. I'm not ruining my controller just to get better times and higher leaderboard positions. I don't care if the marble is programmed to go faster diagonally. Are there instructions somewhere in the game on how to mod your controller, no? Then don't do it. I've achieved plenty of good times without doing it (my best position is 204). The leaderboards don't seem to mean anything anyway: who are those two guys (TopCheeseHead and Blind Man) who get 3.something for every level, no matter how big it is. Hackers? Who knows what else people get up to.

Re: worthy chalenger
Going faster at 45 is just a side effect of porting from the PC version and not an intended part of the gameplay.  (we covered this on an mbu site a *long* time ago =)

Whether you want to mod or not is up to you though.  Personally I don't think its in the spirit of the game, but it's not something I can stop people doing - just like I can't stop them glitching the leaderboards in singleplayer.  The thing that does annoy me though is when I play someone modded and they claim they are unmodded to seem better than they are (I've met a handful of people who did that - I don't think they were top 200 though so maybe they were insecure about their skills ;-)

FastNBulbous: yep people at the top are still good - modding doesn't *make* someone good, but it does give an automatic advantage all other things being equal =)
