That was exactly the point, Online Surveys are not "truthful". It takes more then an "immature" person to understand this. But agreed, the OP should try sources he would know should be more reliable, not random people from the Internet.

Well this is the only forum, from several that I posted on, that an immature response was done...actually I got several really good responses from other forums..therefore they do work. I wanted to post on forums strictly because its a good way to reach a larger gaming public then just my friends lists.

Most online surveys are only untruthful as you say because people like you exist and ruin the results, you'd think you would have figured that out....but there are actually more people out there who answer truthfully and give good results out there then idiots. also most surveys are now done online with unknown users...because its a way to reach a broad number of people in a larger area.

I also think that this may scare people a bit... as these sights often have spam and pop-ups attached.
And for all this trouble, yes i have accurately answered you survey, as this topic of video game violence often comes about in some of my psychology class discussions.

EDIT: i did though lie about my age, as it appears to be a 'must answer' question, which at the top it says I'm not obliged to answer. So if you see one with the age of 100 just ignore that statistic.

well from my knowledge if gaming is "bad" for people and should be stopped then if you like action shooting movies why arent they banning that  gaming is just a fantasy and everyone has a fantasy of being in the movies or saving lives and also it is only entertainment its not likely someone will kill another cause of this

precisely the point...I did this to show that the general respondents believe that the media places to much blame on video games for increased crime rates

if they think that gaming is the prob they might as well ban movie theaters and blockbuster or other of that sort but sometimes when you are an adult and taking care of yourself everyday sometimes you would go insane because daily lifestyle is not enough there should be entertainment to keep us sane you know?

I agree, I myself use video games not just for entertainment but a way to take out frustration and anger...for example if i feel like just beating someone i put in GTA, lol

sometimes if i want to put frustrations i would just put in halo 3 and just kill anything i see

You know I took your survey....but I dont think people should act so immature over a survey someone is trying to do for a Sociology Class its extremely immature. Its not like its posted directly its a link regardless if its against to rules or not who honestly always fallows them...and no one has to take it if they dont want to its not forced.....the accuracy of results is the same whether online or not people could lie right to your face...so whats the difference.....Obviously it wasnt made to go against any of the video game companies or anything just a research paper...assuming easy paper easy grade....too bad people cant just be polite. Plus the easiest way to get results is to obviously ask the gaming community itself....sorry people have to be extremely immature about it...but then again what does a 12 year old honesly know about a COLLEGE assignment their in JUNIOR HIGH.....BIG MATURITY DIFFERENCE!!!!!!!!!! glad he wanted to show that too by the way.... People should really respect others ideas and not be rude it gets you NO WHERE in life... good luck with your paper

Wow i should really play video games more haha......i get to stressed out it might help out a bit if i were to do so.....haha remember stress can cause disease and gray hair....i guess thats why guys are always so laid back....maybe i should try some harder games.....cause i dont think fable can relieve stress and frustration then again ive been known to play a bit of assassins creed.....ok rambling such a girl.
