I played the demo and decided right then never to purchase Two Worlds. But the other day I was in need of some mindless entertainment and found a copy for $9... so I decided what the heck, i'll bite.
At first all of the games flaws are on display in wide array, and there are many. But I persisted on with nothing better to do, and now i'm in around 15 hours and the game is actually fun. I've been critical of the voice acting, but it's actually kind of humorous and isn't hurting the experience any more.
The mechanics and menus are a pain to learn, but don't seem so broken once you figure them out. The fighting is a mixed bag with some good and some bad. Most of the time the enemies you face are stronger than you, but there is usually a magic source nearby to spam. Graphics are below average, but not really bad. Horse riding needs a major workover, but for the most part the game is pretty good, just not polished. I'm actually considering getting the sequel on day one, though i'll be upset if they haven't improved on what they did in the first game.
P.S. I liked the old style of english they use. It's a nice change. "Mayhap, you tell me whence you arrived here... Pray"?
