Sky Player Lack Of HD Content
For those who have the Sky Player over here in the uk has anyone noticed that there are no HD channels on the sky player. I am on the HD channel pack and i have all the movies but theres no sign of any HD content anywhere.

Id like to know if theres any plans to bring HD content on the sky player as thats what we paid for some of us. Also why did i get this program cannot be viewed on sky player message when watching certain programs live i paid to watch it and sky player doesnt let me this is nonsense.

This isn't an Xbox issue, it has to do with the company and what they decide to add to stream...

Okay bandwitdh isnt an issue there are isps that offer you unlimited bandwitdh for a set price and some isps that offer you loads of bandwitdh. So having downloadable Hd content on there isnt an issue. I pay for the HD package so i dont see why thats excluded from the sky player so technicly i am paying for something im not getting.

Secondly the sky player needs some major revamps and the guide needs updated. The Xbox 360 is more powerfull than a sky HD or sky plus box so theres really no excuse not to do this.

Xtyre please explain to me and those on the HD packages why they are not getting hd content they paid for on the sky player?

Who else thinks the sky player could be a lot better?

As I said, it isn't up to Microsoft as to what is added to the Sky Player. It is the companies choice of what they want to add to your package or whatever.

Isn't the Sky Player on the 360 the same as Sky Player on the PC via the Sky website?  I'm pretty sure there's no HD content on the website version, so why should the 360 have HD?

If Sky make HD content via the website then it will also come to the 360, untill then your not getting any.

Hey we hold a lot of power as paying sky subscribers so they need to get HD content on either the planner or the on demand. The 360 can more than handle 1080I tv channels.

A modern PC can easily handle 1080p video too.  I would assume if sky added HD content on the player it would also be available on the Sky Player website for the PC/MAC.

I'm not saying I don't agree with your wish for HD, I'm saying its quite expensive and bandwidth intensive to stream live 1080 content via the web. Its not upto Microsoft what Sky streams, its upto Sky, if they think its cost effective and there is enough demand it will come eventualy.  If it does it will be available on the PC as well as the Xbox.

Well we all know 360 can handle 1080P video ask any developer. Anyway sky cant exactly denie that theres any demand for hd when they have millions of people on the hd package to begin with
