Did they mess up the conflict games?

I played the demo and wasn't impressed. I loved the conflict games for their 4 person co-op. I would usually play with two of my friends on Desert Storm and Global Terror.

The two things that sturred me away on the demo was how annoying it was to kill someone. They wouldn't die until I shot them in the head. The other thing was the two person co-op not four which is what I became a fan of the conflict games for.

From game reviews I heard not too many people play online and not too many people liked it as a conflict continuation.

So from the community, was this game a mess up? What do you guys think of this game?

Re: Did they mess up the conflict games?

This is the first conflict game i didn't buy so i can't give a proper opinion. I loved desert storm and global terror.. (vietnam was a bit poor, the samey backgrounds annoyed me). The fact they screwed up the formula was just foolish... they appear to go for a Rainbow 6 approach of squad based fps?

It's only my opinion but I think this game was always beaten by GRAW and GRAW2 in the 3rd person tactical shooter genre... but they still had a very enjoyable game.

Re: Did they mess up the conflict games?

Short Answer: Yes

However, I love most shooter games and playing the first Desert Storm game got me hooked on the series with the four player co-op. And I also played all of the conflict games since then. I commend piviotal games for trying to spice up their new game with some new ideas. The last thing I wanted was for this game to go the way of dynasty warriors with endless repetitive content.

Pros: The commentary between Lang and Graves is funny but mostly just there to display they interact with each other. The destroyable enviornment was the best improvement from the last conflict games.

Cons: The "hostiles" are hard to kill when most require a headshot to kill them quickly, about three chest shots on normal and they may still live. No choice between first person and third person view.

Other: I really don't care about how detailed the graphics are, they did an ok job. It wasn't the best I have ever seen but it still looked good.

-

In the end, I wish more people would give this game a chance, it does have a certian charm to it and I think that the devoted players should stand by piviotal games and their decision to change it up a bit. I can only hope that in the future they return to the old style of four person team but still continue to make improvements.

Re: Did they mess up the conflict games?
I've played all of the Conflict games with my friends and we just completed the new installment. We were very disipointed that there was only two player co-op and a thin story. Yes tons of stuff was distructable but that ended up hurting more than helping as your cover is distroyed within a few shots. The competative multi-player is where the game does a never ending nose dive. We played it as a one on one match just to try it out. Most of the maps ended up being way to large for one on one and the spawn points ended up being in maze like locations. This wouldnt be a problem if they gave you a map, but this game lacks one all togeather. Finally, the last major flaw of the multiplayer was the spawn compared to the location of the enemy player.

Re: Did they mess up the conflict games?

i enjoyed the desert storm series and the vietnam game, but the denied ops was disappointing. the conflict game creators were good at 3rd person squad shooters on the xbox but then traded great gameplay and storylines for partially better graphics, worse environments, no 'atmosphere', and confusing un-lifelike maps. i hope they make another game and put it in 3rd person squad shooter like the others. it would be bad to end on the xbox 360 with such a low rating game.

 Conflict: Global Terror - xbox

Hey All!!
I recently purchased - for a very cheap price I might add -   Conflict Global Terror,  for the Xbox,  thinking it would run in the 360.  it stopped me,  and sent me a link to xbox.com/Games,  where -  it's not even listed.
does anyone know where I can go to get the update/patch,  what ever I need there -  if it exists at all -  for the game to play on the xbox 360??  I have other ones, that quickly gave me the patch/update needed to play another said original title.  this time I come up short.

super  long time fan here -     since all the conflicts began.

Conflict should have come to the 360 as it always was, third person. I loved Global Terror, Desert Storm, Vietnam.. I don't know why they'd scrap the third person tactical idea for another generic shooter. Denied Ops sucks.

Yeah it's like they scraped all the good things about the series. I miss the third person view and the 4 player co-op. I played through all the Conflict games co-op with my brothers. One of my best Conflict memories is playing through Vietnam with Tribute by Tenacious D blairing in the background.

Re: Did they mess up the conflict games?

My friend rented this the other day and I can honestly say its one of the worst games I have ever played. I remember conflict desert storm being ok but nothing special

Re: Did they mess up the conflict games?
they made a big mistake by choosing first person over third, and 2 player co-op over 4. my question is..is microsoft ever going to make vietnam, desert storm 2, and global terror available on marketplace for download?
