Kay so, when i play call of duty 4 it lets me play for anywhere from 20 seconds - 30 minutes and then inevitably locks up and freezes and i have to turn the xbox off and back on to play it.

now, i know its not the disc or the hard drive or the xbox itself thats the problem and ill explain why. my parents are separated and i go to my dads every other weekend. the weekend that just passed i went over to my dads. whenever i go there i bring my hard drive, my games, and my controller. i played call of duty 4 all weekend with the same disc and the same hard drive the whole time and it never once froze up on me. i came back last night and played and it froze up again. i know its not the xbox itself because i play 3 other games on it and i can play those for hours or days at a time and it wont freeze up.

can anybody tell me whats wrong? my xbox is ventilated just fine, its on an end table with nothing around the fans that could mess with it or anything.

also, sorry for the wall of text.

Is call of duty 4 installed on the HDD? You mentioned the other 3 games play fine, are those installed on the HDD as well? Please provide some info.

Call of duty is installed to the hard drive but it still messes up either way i play it so i dont know what could be wrong with it.

Weird that it's only happening at your moms. Could just be coincidence, but try removing the game from the hard drive, then reinstall it. Something could be corrupt. Worth a shot man.

Hmm I see you point, but desperate people that have something wrong with their consoles will try anything to fix them, or find solutions. I'm simply stating the suspicious link because I don't want a unaware person clicking it. So thanks
