Transfer cable
I heard that you could get a hard drive transfer cable by calling xbox customer support. Is this true? I know that you can also get the cable with the 120 gb, but I have a 60 gb and it didn't come with the cable that I need so I can transfer all my crap from the 20 to this. If this is true, can somebody give me their number?

I've owned an xbox 360 for almost 3 years and I've never had to call customer support.

the number is 1-800-469-9269 (18004myxbox). They will SELL you a cable for a little over 13 dollars. I just called them and ordered one about 10 minutes ago so yes it for real.

Re: Transfer cable
Can you order it online from anywhere? I looked on eBay/Amazon but all I find are the cables w/CD to transfer to PC, not to the 360 HDD.

Re: Transfer cable
From what I hear apparently you can buy them at GameStop but I don't know how accurate that statement is. I don't know if you can get the official kit online.

Re: Transfer cable
call 1800 4 MY XBOX when you are asked to push a number, say "AGENT" 3 time to be connected directly to an agent. ask to buy a transfer kit. be ready with your XB serial # or personal info, and a credit card. and a pen/paper. costs about $13, mine shipped within 1-1.5 weeks, in time for my MW2 console :D

I called them the other day (1-800-469-9269) and they said they are out of the transfer kits and have no idea when they are even getting anymore in. Awesome. The guy said to try GameStop and GameSomething (dont remember) to try to find them.

Does it matter what kit you get? Are there different software discs for the different size HDD or different consoles (Halo, MW2, Elite, etc) ? I might just buy another 120GB HDD w/ cable and use the cable, then eBay or return the whole thing. Any reason that wouldn't work?

Re: Transfer cable
I just spent two hours on hold to get to talk to support.  They said they are out of the cables and are unable to sell them until they get more.

Re: Transfer cable
I just called and ordered mine. The Rep informed me that they just came in today so call quick before they run out again.

Just so everyone knows it has been confirmed that media set ending in -02 and -03 work on the 250GB HDD.

Re: Transfer cable
Edit: The label on the sleeve reads -03 while the disc itself is marked as -02.
