Assassin's Creed vs. Prince of Persia

I have played Assassin's Creed all the way through and I loved it. I would like to play another game like it, and I was told that Prince of Persia was similar. How much alike are they, if any? Which one do you guys like better?

Re: Assassin's Creed vs. Prince of Persia
Let's put it this way:

Last-gen PoP games>Assassin's Creed>My own ***>The new PoP

They completely ruined the series with this game.  The gameplay was way too different.  There was minimal boss battles and all the bosses seemed to be the same, at least towards the beginning.  Then, the majority of the game, you just had to run around and collect orbs.  The art-style was ugly imo, although other's may disagree.  And the worst part of all, you cannot die.  No matter how many times you fall of a cliff or get that final blow from an enemy, you will always be saved.  The acrobatics were improved though but it is nowhere near good enough to make me play this game ever again.

I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

It's fun. The gameplay is very different from Assassin's creed, but enjoyable. The general aesthetic is much "kiddier" Don't look at this game from a hardcore point of view, because it's WAY easier than AC,and play it purely for fun. Rent it.

It is not really anything like AC.  The combat is so simple and repetitious.  Rent if you are curious, but don't waste your money on a buy.  You fight four bosses over and over and over and over and over and over.  Plus, the combos that everyone says are so cool don't work on the later iterations of the bosses.  You can beat it before Blockbuster charges you for a late fee.

I like AC much better than this game.

Re: Assassin's Creed vs. Prince of Persia
Personally, I think that Prince of Persia is better but only by a little bit. I have got Assassin's Creed and PoP and I say that they are both great and similar games but they are very different in tons of ways. First of all Assassin's Creed is a lot more realistic (Although you are in the 21st century and you're in a scanner pretending to be your great, great uncle, but that is not my point). Prince of Persia has very colorful and playful graphics as Assassin's Creed has a more detailed, dark and serious approach with it's graphics. Since PoP is rated PG and Assassin's Creed is MA+15 you can tell that they are pretty different. As you can see if you have played both of the games, Assassin's Creed has got blood and is based on real events and Prince of Persia has darkness instead of blood and it is magical and is very fictional. The stories are very unlike each other in every way; PoP is about a dude who has to destroy the leader of darkness with his 'girlfriend' Elika. As for Assassin's Creed, that's about a guy who is his great uncle in a mind experiment and he has to kill bad people and report back to the people that put made him do this. Prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed are almost the same in gameplay. You play as very acrobatic characters in both games but in PoP you have Elika's magic to help you. I hope you like my post, now you decide which game is better.

My advice is not to put in Prince of Persia immediately after playing Assassin's Creed, because you'll have trouble with the controls.
Sometimes, when you do nothing, things have a way of fixing themselves.

Re: Assassin's Creed vs. Prince of Persia
I agree with Pejo1317, this PoP isnt any good. Mainly because you can never die in the game. Back in NES days games are all challenging and that makes it fun to play, and when I finally overcome the challenge and beat the game I brimmed with pride.

But now look at this game, you can never die, hows that a challenge??? and when you beat the game hows that satisfying when you know anyone can beat it as long as they can be bothered to put the disk into the console?

Seriously the developers have done everything for you already, you just have to hold the controller in your hand and there you go you beat this game.

Ninja Gaiden 2: 1250/1250
Rock Band 2: 1000/1000
Devil May Cry 4: 1000/1000
Lost Planet Colonies: 1000/1000

I would pick PoP if you are looking for better jumping and stuff like that (even though Sands of Time was a biliion times better) if you are looking for combat and just over all coolness pick A. Creed which had terrible jumpy stuff imo but better everything else. Both are good games imo :p (Even though Sand of Time owns both of these games :p)

Re: Assassin's Creed vs. Prince of Persia
I personally couldn't stand Assassins creed, I finished it on my PS3 ages ago and I returned it before the 10 day money back rule expired. The combat system is pathetic and really repetitive: "Lets stand here and wait for a counter opportunity, ZZzzZZZzzzzZZ" >.> seriously it was annoying. And the story didn't do much for me at all, so uninteresting. However this is MY view.
Awesome,much?

I'm don't hate this PoP quite as much as you do, but it's absolutely, no-questions-asked inferior in almost every way to the GC/PS2/Xbox series

Re: Assassin's Creed vs. Prince of Persia
I've been playing this game for about 2 hours and I'm on the last level, and I've only died like 5 times.

It's WAY to easy and short.

At least Assassin's Creed was a little challenging and longer.

So I'll vote for AC.

I can do a thousand push-ups when no one is looking.

RE: Re: Assassin's Creed vs. Prince of Persia
I played both games and must say that both games aren't gold winners.

Assassin's Creed looked really good but the gameplay was boring. Rescue some old man/woman, climb the tower, collect the items and Assassinate the boss... There wasn't really anything to do besides that and I really hope that they put more variation in the announced Assassin's Creed 2. It took me 2-3 afternoons to complete the game with 800+ gamerscore.

Prince of Persia looked really good as well, it's a whole different style and you like it or not. The game wasn't really hard as I finished it under 12h and under 100 deaths during my first playthrough. I like how the story develops during the end. I also ended up with a 800+ gamerscore for this game.

Good games for 30 euro's, but no way I'd pay 60 euro's for both.
Both games are on the bookshelve and I don't think they will come off anytime soon.

Newb on Tour.

I would put AC of PoP as well. I've healed five fertile lands so far and my biggest complaint is it's pretty much all boss battles. I didn't play Warrior Within or Two Thrones...the last PoP game I played was Sands of Time and it was sooooo much better than this.

The hopping around, climbing and physics involved with that is amazing...but the entire game seems to be running from boss to boss. I miss Sands of Time where there were a lot of enemies to defeat, comboing off them and off walls, etc. Maybe it'll come later in this game but I doubt it.

Well this is a whole new PoP so they had to make it different from the other 3, yes i loved the other three but this one is great as well. i love the acrobatics and i think the whole going from boss to boss is cool, but it isn't all going from boss to boss you still have currupted to kill.

Re: RE: Re: Assassin's Creed vs. Prince of Persia
This isn't even a fair question. Story+gameplay and simply everything, Creed is by far the superior game. Heck, very little actual combat in PoP (especially compared to the other games). I still like this game, but, I also dislike all the issues i've had with it (999 seeds, DLC loading issues, concubine not appearing 2nd time because I had saved in her tower..)

Even without the glitches Creed would win this one, hands down.

I really like Prince of Persia, and it a good story. The only problem is there is barely any fighting in the game. There are also no pick-ups, or any other attacks/weapons you can gain. Other than that, it's a pretty good game.
