Is it me or does Acre remind me of England?
Am I the only one to think this? When I first went into this town , I thought it was England. The accents , the way the air is all gloomy and english knights everywhere. I didnt know the real acre was still in isreal. Looks too much like England in the game.

Re: Is it me or does Acre remind me of England?
I got a sense that it felt like a medieval english town because of the way everyone talked, and the general appearance of the city. Example, the walls surrounding the city remind me of a castle setting. Plus, the large Gothic cathedral in the southern end of the city, reminds me of medieval England.

If you read the history, you will see that Arce was taken by the Crusaders during that time and mostly by the English I believe, and that's why.

Yeah, the city of Acre was taken by the Knights Templar in the siege of Acre, which was the very first battle of the third crusade. It ended in 1191, which is the year that Assassin's Creed takes place. And, one of the leaders of the Knights was Robert de Sable, who is also in the game..

True, but the Knights Templar were French I'm sure. Meh, I'm sure there is a reason why Arce was multi-national. My history on the Crusaders is not all that good, TBH. lol

Ahaha. I only really know this because I'm in AP European History right now, and we're on this time period of the Crusades and middle ages. I agree that most were French, but probably some English mixed in no doubt, since it was a Crusade called by the Pope at the time which I believe was Pope Gregory VIII. And this means that all of Catholic religion should make way to the Holy Land to take it back from the Muslim invaders (Saladin and the Turks). At the Battle of Arsuf, which also took place in 1191, Richard I marched from Acre, to a place called Arsuf, near Jaffa. Which was supposedly won by Richard I and the Templars (although the losses were the same on both sides). I hope you learned something from this.

Still, you have to admire the games accuarcy for it's history. And thank you for calling it England and not Britain. I get tired, mostly from Americans who talk about King Richard the I or Britain and the Brittish involment in the crusades. >_<"
