Christmas suggestions please =D
Hi, my Dad has recently started playing my xbox 360 with me over the past month, after a week he went out and brought Call Of Duty 3, we play this quite often online together using 4 player split screen, or he sometimes plays by himself. He really likes this game and I was wondering what sort of similar games there is out there. This is because I want to buy him a new game for christmas.

A bit about my Dad:
  • Hes 42
  • Casual Gamer
  • He is getting quite good at COD 3

Looking for any game with:
  • Similar style of gameplay to Call of Duty 3
  • At least 2 player split screen online (hopefully 4)
  • Easy to play
  • Casual gamers
  • Not to many glitches so people cheat online

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

P.s. I would reccomend Call of Duty 3 to anybody who wants there Dad to play with them, it is fun and cheap and a good starting game to get his skills better

Modern Warfare 2 will not be split screen online.

Left 4 Dead  is and so will be Left 4 Dead 2!

Modern Warfare would be the nicest thing Imo. Unless the split screen online is so important.

If not would Halo 3 and some other games in that genre be recommended.

I bought the band in box thingie for my brother. For rockband. thats awesome.

This is easy Modern Warfare 2!  Seriously if he likes CoD 3 (the worst in the series), then he will go nuts over MW2.  If he does get it and happens to have a gold account, tell him to throw me a friend request, I would gladly game with him (I'm 31).  The only problem with MW2 is no co-op campaign, instead it has spec ops.  Although CoD 5 world at war would fill that bill although its in the same era as CoD 3, aka WWII.  Enjoy gaming with your dad, I am kinda in the reverse situation and I am teaching my 8 year old son how to play (been a gamer all my life).

As others have said, get Modern Warfare 2 when it comes out, it's going to be great. Halo is a good game to play too, pretty arcadey and a good intro shooter. I'm suprised nobody has mentioned this, but what about buying some MS Points and picking up a few arcade games? He'll probably love Geometry Wars, and basically everyone loves Castle Crashers as well.

To all the people suggesting Modern Warfare 2, the OP wants a game that has splitscreen online. Modern Warfare 2 will not have that. The only ones I can suggest are Halo and Left 4 Dead.

Yeah, but it still has spec-ops, offering the OP and his dad the opprotunity to game together.

And I forgot to mention that L4D 2 is coming out soon, OP shoud try to pick that up too.

I think he would really like Halo 3, so why not get him ODST? That way he basically gets two games in one for $60. He can play ODST and than he has the multiplayer disc for Halo 3 (with all maps included).
My brother is 40 and even though he was never into FPSs, he loves to play Halo 3 online.

This screams Borderlands.

Borderlands has the exact same FPS controls of the COD games. Now take the wasteland from Fallout 3 mixed with loot collecting of Diablo and Too Human,  then add all the color from Crackdown. After that add in 3 more friends to play co-op with along with 16 million random weapons and a lot of insane action.  Thats Borderlands. Which IMO is GOTY 2009 for 4 co-op campaign.

Re: Christmas suggestions please =D

no-one else has mentioned the GRAW series yet- its a little bit more of a thinking man's(or ladies) game from the run and shoot like the Call of Duty games but he might enjoy it
and there is the Rainbow 6 series- you can't go wrong with any game from the tom clancy section really
also like a few have said borderlands is an awesome game and should keep both of you busy for a while

If your dad likes cartoons, he should like Borderlands.  Seriously, get him a 360 so you and him can co-op some games.
