Best use of Night Vision Goggles???
I like the many gaming addicts are picking up the Night Vision Goggles with the upcoming version of Modern Warfare 2... In reality none of us really need these goggles and I'm wondering what would be your best use for them besides collecting dust in your living room and having it as a conversation piece.  Does anybody know the quality of these goggles as well???

Re: Best use of Night Vision Goggles???
the quality will not be as good as a unit purchased for comparable money unbundled from a video game. maybe if you lost your flashlight they could be handy.

i know a few people with halo helmets as 'conversation peices' and the only conversation which ever arises from having them is typically:

'lol you paid money for that?'
'yeah'
'lol'
'yeah oh well' 'lol'

With the Night Vision Goggles you will only be able to see a few feet 2-3 perhaps as much as 6-8 feet with them in total darkness. Don't expect them to be as good as what the military use or as you see night vision equipped cameras as used on TV.

Remember the batterang fiasco? Man, people complained like hell at how crappy those things were.

But really? What does one expect, it's typically crap. I still think this is a bizarre edition and a bit too premium for my tastes (not as a consumer, but as an observer of marketing). The only time I like to buy special editions is when they come with additional game content (Fable 2, which was not worthwhile anyways) or useful hardware (Halo 3: ODST controller bundle, because I needed some new grips). The other stuff is just clutter. As noted above, it usually just sits there as a dusty monument to virginity.

None the less though, people will buy it as always. I'm very curious to see the generally reaction to the goggles once people get their hands on them.

I hear you, I'm more or less getting them for a display in my living room... probably will play with them out of boredom here and there... they look huge though I feel like I'll have to work my neck muscles just to support them on my head...

What do you need a giant batterang for?

People like having useless crap, especially when it's limited or exclusive crap.

Re: Best use of Night Vision Goggles???
Real ones are heavy, awkward and someone dangerous. Wearing them for any length of time causes pretty sever headaches in most individuals. Looking at a bright light while wearing them can be very painful and in extreme cases can cause permanent damage to your eyes.

Even prolonged  normal use can result in damage to your natural night vision, as well!

Hopefully these are toys that look good and do nothing!

Take me out, to the Black, tell them I ain't coming back!

Either that, or all of the annoying children on xbox live use them while playing the game in the dark, only to have someone enter the room, turn on the lights, and burn their retinas beyond repair, forever keeping them away from screaming like idiots on xbox live. Sigh... a perfect world.

The video on your link hardly mentions the goggles and what they said was a joke!
Not exactly what I would call helpful to the discussion!

To let you guys know - there is a high chance of the night vision goggles being defective and retailers will not refund or exchange them if that is the case. You have to contact Jakk's pacific if yours don't work.

Lmao! Even more reason why not to guy this kinda stuff. You always usually have to go through the creator/developer of the game to get any problems/defects fixed or replaced in regards to the extra crap you get in the Collector's Edition.

I am all for a good laugh trust me.....but I got the earnest impression that someone thought they were actually going to be able to peak in their neighbors windows and watch their teenage daughter undress!

I'd trade mine in for another microphone for Beatles Rock Band.

Having said that, I'm going with the Hardened version. Got mine already pre-ordered for the midnight release....

I'm glad you added that last bit or i'd question the sanity of paying $160(?) for a 'prestige' edition only to pawn the addition (ostensibly worth $80?) for a $20 microphohe Wink [;)]
