Another Gamer sends pornographic picture of himself!
Help!   I have tried contacting Xbox live and I am still getting the run around!   While playing the game "Call of Duty World at War" on Xbox Live on 10/29/09 another gamer sent a pornographic picture of his naked genitals through the Xbox live message system.  The gamer tag of the person who sent the picture is: [mod edit: not matter how bad the offense, calling out another gamer is not permitted on the forums.]   Unfortunately, my 11 year old son saw this very disgusting and disturbing picture sent by the other gamer.   I have talked to the local police and they indicated this matter is a felony and to let them know if I want to pursue further action.  I have reported the incident to Xbox Live Support.  They suggested I send you a message directly to the enforcement team  given the seriousness of the incident.  To make matters worse.  I have received another message from this person asking if I liked the picture (sent 11/2/09)?  This is serious and I get the feeling Xbox Live really doesn't care.   It seems like everbody passes the buck!  Beware of this gamer!

To make matters worse.  I have received another message from this person asking if I liked the picture (sent 11/2/09)?  What is so disturbing is that he is still on line potentially sending more of this pornographic filth.

This is truly disturbing, I sit regular with my own children and my friends are round with their children. We all play guitar hero sometimes online and if it that easy for some pervy bstard to send a picture it worrys me. Maybe microsoft should introduce that you can only recieve pictures from friends, that way you have some more control over what comes on your TV.

I'm sure if you keep badgering Microsoft there will be something done, and I hope there is something done, this is truly a worrying  occurence. Good luck persueing this.

It is disturbing that we have to put up with those kind of people on XBL. I would never even think of doing something like that. Also, I'm sure that your post will be edited by a Mod and they will say that calling out another persons GT isn't allowed.

Now that you've reported this piece of filth, I'd recommend changing the communication settings on your 360 to block out unwanted communications.

This link will show you how to filter voice and text communications.

Thank you!  I am going to change the filter settings immediately!  I thought if set your gamer profile to family it would not set you up with underground gamers.

I have been in contact with Xbox Live and it has been a total waste of time!  This gamer is currently playing now!  I suspect he has done this before by his recent message.  I just can't believe Microsoft does not take immediate action.  I was told the server has record of any messages sent or received.  Its not like they can't see what he sent!

I will keep everyone up to date on how Xbox Live handles this matter.

I always hate to read ( even though I still do) these posts.  I will look for this to end with "The Pro" or "boot (something)", sorry I forgot,  telling there mother why there XBOX has been banned for life.

Good luck with this.

Right, I'm hardly a parent, being 17, but come on.

If someone sent me a pic of his naked genitals, I'd hope I'd be able to just go "Oh, look, genitals. Big deal", and not worry about it so much. I mean sorry to say, but people should harden up a bit, perhaps?

Now, if it was a more detailed picture of an explicit act involving said genitals, then that would be significantly worse.

Maybe you should leave this one to the grown ups kid. Yes [Y]

It is a violation of the Terms of Service to send pornographic material over the Live service.

Gamer zones don't actually do anything except tell you what type of gameplay the person engages in.

Someone sent me a really offensive photo of their violent act/genitals/pornography/drug use/racist activity. What do I do?

Send a forum PM to Bootblack, please. I’ll need the gamertag, the nature of the violation, and if you have any evidence (e.g., links to photos on public sharing sites) include that.

It was seen by my 11 year old!  An 11 year old should not be exposed to such filth.  If he this piece of garbage was nearby, I would pay him a visit and physically trounce him!

I will send you what I have.  Unfortunately, I deleted the picture on the advice of Xbox Live support but they assured me it is on there server.  He did send a second picture asking if  "I liked it".  I also have a reference case number.

Thanks for your help!

Hmm [^o)]

That's a very respectful attitude to take. So what, I'm a "kid". You're an "adult".

And of course I know it's against the Terms of Service to send pornographic material over Live.

Telling a parent to "harden up" when their little kid sees pornography on XBL isn't all that respectful, either.

Report, delete, and lock it down is your best course of action.  Always report this crap and keep the reference number, if the person sending it is under 18 and gets caught by their parents and makes a story up saying you asked him you could get in trouble (felony child porn).  As long as you have a record of you reporting him your clear and hopefully they will ban him and pass info to law enforcement.

Terrible thing to happen.  In addition to what Tuxas said follow these rules:
If someone sends you a pic and you don't know who the sender is NEVER open it.  If for some reason you feel the need to, do so when you are alone.  Sorry to hear you learned that lesson the hard way.
If someone sends you something offensive, report, delete, and block communication so that they can't get to you again.

How long does it take before Xbox Live takes action?  I have now blocked him out a a "non preferred player after he some how joined a session my son was playing yesterday and gloated about how Xbox will not do anything.  I wish there was an easier way to get Xbox Enforcement to pay attention.  Xbox support just keeps sending me the standard automated response.  I live in the back yard of Microsoft (Seattle).  Maybe the local news stations can get their attention!

Assuming you PM'ed Bootblack or The Pro, they still have to investigate first, though in situations like this it usually doesn't take long.  You won't know when they do take action though as they don't inform you. Also support is of no use, they have no access or info dealing with enforcement.

It will be reviewed and the appropriate action will be taken. It just may take some time. They have to go through a lot of complaints on a daily basis from what I understand. But the ban hammer will be dropped.

Re: Another Gamer sends pornographic picture of himself!
As of today, this gamer continues to play Xbox live.  Microsoft has chosen to do nothing.  Thinking about my next step is to take the matter to my local news station (Seattle).  The consumer news desk is very interested in running a story on the local evening news.  I hate to do it, but maybe that is the only way to get Microsoft's attention.  The other avenue is pursuing a formal compaint with the local police since it would be considered pornography.

Any other ideas?

That is your choice. However, I would like to point out that the enforcement team is usually very over worked with this stuff. Some time it takes a week, sometimes it takes weeks to a month due to the flood of complaints they have to sift through and investigate.

There have been recent reports of a middle aged man sending pornographic snapshots of his genitals. You should take action immediately, because the man is on the loose. A ten year old boy received said pictures and reported him. Please take precaution at all times. This is a very serious matter, and should be reported to the authorities. Ick! [+o(]

I'd go the Police route if I were you. MS is much more cooperative to them, and will provide the police with IP connection information and what ever else they need.
