So I got a 360 several months ago but have recently wanted to replay some original games. I popped Doom 3 in, and it loads, goes through all the beginning credits and intros and everything. It gets to the "Press Start" screen fine, but when I do hit start it freezes up, still playing music. The disc hasn't been touched or removed from the case since I last played on the regular Xbox, and it worked just fine. I wiped the disc off and everything, and I figure if it was too scratched to play at all it wouldn't start up or Xbox would give me a message. I'd really like to play it without having to go out and buy another copy could you please help?

In my experience, Doom 3 seems to have always had problems with the Xbox 360. I seem to be able to play campaign, but playing online results in me freezing on the 360. I haven't had problems to your extent, and something you could do would be try another system. If it does the same there, it could be the disc, if it doesn't, it might be your console with a corrupt emulator. That is a real stretch. You could always clear all your updates from the system which includes backwards compatibility updates. It is more simple now than it used to be; it's somewhere in the system tab.
