Your Top 5 2009 releases
Top 5
1. In the Unlikely Event -The Fall of Troy (Disapointed at first, but now i cant stop listening to it)
2. Say Anything - Say Anything
3. Beggars - Thrice
4. Crack the Skye - Mastodon
5. The Great Misdirect - Between the Buried and Me

Top disappointment
1. Ruination - Job for a Cowboy
2. Constellations - August Burns Red
3. The Great Misdirect - Between the Buried and Me

Yes BTBAM is on both lists. Great album, but disappointed. I think I may need to listen to it a bit more.

Mewithoutyou, Muse, The Mars Volta, TDWP, and After the Burial released sick albums this year too.

Discuss and let me know urs.

Looks I need to wittle it down, I can't even recall everything from 2009 I've listened to. Wolves in the Throne Room is nearly guaranteed a spot, however.

Digging: Frank Zappa, Death, TV on the Radio.

Seriously, check TV on the Radio out, best band of this decade.

Re: Your Top 5 2009 releases
I don't listen to full albums often, but here's a few from where I got some awesome songs, and may check out later:

Resistance - Muse
Black Gives Way To Blue - Alice In Chains
Internet Leaks - Weird Al Yankovic

I can't think of five, but if I can get a couple more, I'll definitely put them on. I'm a bit behind in music, as you can see Stick out tongue [:P]

You're missing out, Cobalt, Blut Aus Nord, and The Chasm are all fantastic bands. Warbringer's pretty meh to me, and Baroness is really good, but The Blue Record was mighty disappointing.

Mines are:
1. Endgame - Megadeth (44 Minutes is a great song.)
2. Dear Agony - Breaking Benjamin (Not their best album [We Are Not Alone is IMO] but still a great album)
3. World Painted Blood - Slayer (Slayer is still kciking quantum singularity)
4. Cosmic Egg - Wolfmother (Love this band, really glad they didn't break up.)
5. Can't decide on a 5th one.

It's good, but nothing compared to The Red Album. Kylesa's Static Tension probably tops my Sludge list for the year, Dark Castle definitely takes the top Doom spot.

I didn't think Black Pyramid was too good, it seemed to be fairly typical Stoner Metal.
