More Child Account Problems

So I turned 18 last year, and I immediately became aware that I had a child account when I couldn't download any of the new M-rated doo dads. So I assumed my dad had set my age a year younger, and figured I'd wait a year since I didn't really play that much anyway. This year I turned 19, but what my dad hadn't told me is that he'd actually set my age two years younger, so in the eyes of the Xbox I've just turned 17 and I STILL can't download the demos, videos and other things that I want to.

I called tech support and, as is typical with them, they said there is nothing they can do. I've changed my Windows Live ID to a new email with my correct age, but still no dice. According to the Support people, the age first associated with the account is forever bound to it, changing email has no effect.

Suggestions? If I call Tech Support and give them my credit card number, phone number, SSN or whatever, will they finally believe the overwhelming evidence that I AM of age? Is there anything I can do?

Nice story.

Again, Xbox will not fix it since for all they know you're another little kid lying,

Suspended for no reason on the forum again. Awesome power abuse mods!

Re: More Child Account Problems
I offered to fax my driver's license, birth certificate, anything that would help but he said he couldn't do anything. I'm just looking for another option short of paying for a second Gold account that I would use to download the media I SHOULD have the right to download.

This still doesn't make sense though. Even though my account is labeled as 17, you'd think I could download M-rated content since Mature means 17+....I could buy M-rated games at 17, but apparently downloading an M-rated demo is a whole new ballpark.

I really hate this system.

Re: More Child Account Problems

I am the mother of this gamertag and what really is ticking me off is that I am a parent and know that my son wants to download a mature game and he is unable to download a game on his gamertag because of the setting I put him under.  If I am his mom and he comes and asks me to play a game, he still can't even when I put in my password.  If he wasn't mature enough to handle the game, I wouldn't have given him permission to play.  But the powers of Xbox want to have control over all that they are taking the parents rights so I am going to sell his xbox and get him a Playstation 3.....and another WII.....I am regretting that I sold his WII when he stopped playing it to play his xbox.  It was alright until they decided to play dictator....I am done with Xbox and I am getting rid of all of his accounts as soon as possible.  I want to know why do I have to create a different account for each of my kids just to play the same system in the same house?  I wonder if I can get my money back for all 3 accounts.  This is just so wrong on so many levels how xbox is *** us over just for a dollar!!! I am thinking about suing.

ONE TICKED OFF MOTHER!!!
