I'm no longer sure it's a definite purchase…

I was so hot about this game a couple of weeks ago, but the more I read the less sure I am that I will buy this installment of the franchise.  For a game that is rated M (meaning 17 and up) it sure feels as though it is catering more and more to the 10-15 y/o players by removing things such as party chat forcing me to either mute the kiddies or listen to the screeching.  And adding items like the heart beat sensor and EMP's and pro perks; I mean weren't the perks game changing enough?
I've gone from wanting to line up at midnight to wanting to rent it first.  Not saying I won't buy it, but it's a definite maybe now and not a must have.

Apparently my original sig which called for the end of injustice and oppression offended one of the oppressors & was censored

I'm probably going to rent it first. I know Spec Ops and Campaign will be very fun, but I am just not sure about MP anymore and that is what I will mostly be playing..

The only reason im getting it is that I can trade in UFC and COD 4 and get it for $20.  I was going to protest it because they got  rid of servers for PC but whatever I guess ill just get it for xbox and not both like I originally planned.

Since when is the Call of Duty franchise only about multiplayer?

I'm actually looking forward to the single player storyline...Of course the multiplayer is a major part of any game, but I mean...things like party chat functions and new perks aren't exactly game changers for me.

Final note: I'm buying this game on day 1. Why? IMO, single player campaign and multiplayer look FANTASTIC.

I've been watching some streams and a lot of what people are upset about doesn't seem to actually affect the MP experience as much as people think. Weapon balance, even with all of the new attatchments, seems to be even better than COD4. Even the dreaded ACOGd snipers seem to fit more nicely into the game, especially with rapid fire MP5ks' and Vectors to keep them in line. AR's seem to be more of a jack of all trades, with SMGs, Snipers and LMGs being much more deadly in their specialized roles. Killstreaks are balanced too, with the ability to carry guided rocet launchers as a secondary weapon. If you equip One Man Army, you do not have access to a secondary weapon. Perks seem much more focused, especially with the pro upgrades.

Even if it's 1/2 as good as the hype it's still going to be a great fun game.

I have heard the SP is amazing but I don't think I can play that over and over until another game that interests me comes out..

Oh yeah, of course. I'll be playing multiplayer most of the time also, and I have no doubt it will be just as great...

Unlike most people, I buy games for the campaign. If the multiplayer is good, that's a plus. There is no doubt in my mind it will have a stunning single player.

Are you sure? The single player campaign has been Call of duty's biggest strength's, COD 2's multiplayer was below par but it's saving grace was it's excellent campaign.

That sucks man. I was really stressed out all day at work and now I come home to see that HoMiCiDe GoTTi isn't going to buy the game. How will the world go forward? Such a tragedy.

He's not saying he isn't buying the game yet everyone seems to be getting offended. He's just saying he's not so excited about it. What's wrong with that?

I think he does make a valid point though.

With all these perks, killstreaks, pro perks, deathstreaks etc then its a possibility that some people might not enjoy the new things and ways the MP plays.

Until played none of us can be really sure.

But doubt many will be upset.

Its not really catering to the 10-15 year old players by including a mission *spoilers* where you massacre a couple dozen (I'm guessing about the number) civilians. The elimination of party chat doesn't cater to younger children. It caters to people who don't want to get involved in parties and who want to just play. And as a game series they have to evolve. If Modern Warfare 2 was basically Call of Duty 4...what would be the point? Of course they have to add stuff. I'm sorry if I come off harsh but this stuff seems obvious to me.
And Darkness and Decay and the Red Death held illimitable dominion over all.

I'm definitely gonna get this game on release night and play through the morning.  I'm playing this non-stop until Assassins Creed 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 gets released, then I'm alternating.

Why don't you just put the whole story line in there while your at it? People are trying to stay away from unoficial MW forums\You Tube\etc because they dont want to spoil the experience when they eventually get the game and then you come along just casually drop a line in ... I know you said spoiler, but at least try and disguise it (font colour perhaps?).
