Since the MP community is more or less non-existent here's what I found with getting some of the achievements

• LOG Master, Sunday League & Premier League - all 3 of these can be got in local play with only 1 controller.  They all run by themselves so don't even need to be played, but can be completed quicker if you don't mind racing around on your own, good way to practice your skills
• Are you Trophy Thomas - surprisingly for me unlocked off line after getting Log Master.  I had played online ranked and only had a handful of wins after maybe 10 matches, then played the DLC offline and got this.  I don't know whether they changed the requirements given the lack of online community.  Given that finding 20 matches, never mind getting 20 wins online in ranked is hard enough this was actually pretty easy to get
• Wheels on Fire - I got this using Clockwork Kazs in my players choice vehicle, seems like as long as you destroy a vehicle any way you can in this race you are good to go

You only have one achievement and it's one that they GIVE you at the start of the game so it's best you not talk.
