I know that this has been an issue that they have known about for a while but does anybody know if there was a resolution?

Quick rundown of issue:
This is how it happened to me, there are other ways that it's happened as well though.

After playing through Braid most of the way my 360 RRoD.
I sent it in, got it back, booted up, and tried to play the game.
My saves were gone.  In fact the game doesn't even want to register that I've purchased the game (still has unlock option in main menu, but it doesn't do anything).
So after a bit I gave up, decided I would just start all over again.
The game will not save, AT ALL.
No matter what I do if I quit out of the game I must play from the very begining all over again.  I've done this a few times, but playing the begining levels over and over gets old.

So my question is, has this been fixed or a workaround been found?

Dito, same problem here. I had the RRoD and replaced the unit (sent the RRoD back) with another xBox (referb from GS) and Braid seems to want to start over. All my Achievements (125/200) are still showing up, it's the game that wants to start over. Is there a solution?

Found a solution on official Braid site.  Log out.  Load Braid. Log In.  Unless you have managed to create a new saved game somehow, you will be in your old saved game.  Downside:  There is no patch to fix this, you will have to do it every time you want to play the game, but your progress will save each time.

Gonna try that next time , as this morning I went in to play Braid again and the previously played and finished puzzle from world 2 was gone and I had to do the whole world over again to open world 3. Thanks for the info..

This isn't working for me (unless I'm misunderstanding) because I can't load Braid without being logged in.  It will not let you load an Arcade game without having a live profile loaded.

Scratch that...  got it.  It's;
1. load game (while logged in)
2. log out
3. log back in

Oh, awesome, I thought I was the only one with this problem, I was going to start over, but good thing I didn't. I wanted to finish this game too, but thanks for the fix. Should this be a sticky or something?

Confirmed. Thanks! Also, happened to me...but after I got my e71 error. Was going to do the trial run and have to play through again to get to it.

Does this happen with a lot of the arcade games? Since getting my new console back after the E74 error I haven't tested any other games. What a frustrating console. I want so badly to love it but then it just whips me with its braid in contempt, a subtle reminder that I am the being played and not the other way around.

This happens with no other game.  It's a glitch unique to Braid.

My friend beat the game for me 3 times, and 3 times, the save was erased, stating 0 progress in the memory settings. WTF!!!??? (>____<)

My game, once I get to the end of world 2 it always says I must unlock the game in order to continue to play.  Is this the same thing that is happening to everyone else? And if it is whats going on with others, will that logging out and logging back in take care of this so I can continue to play through the game?

Yep thats whats happening to almost everyone. Well When I did it (log out and back in) it didnt work for me!!! WE tried everything and this game for some odd reason just doesnt save and keeps saying we have the trial one moment then the next it doesnt O__O!! we even deleted it and downlaoded it again  and that didnt work!!! I REALLY hope they plan to fix this becuase I would like to download it myself but after playing Chibi's and seeing these problems it looks like im gonna have to wait till something is done. If they do anything at all. If there is a solid way to fix this problem I would love to know myself.

For me the first time I signed in to Braid I hit the guide button, then hit the guide button again.  Then the game prompted me to choose a save location.  Any time since then when I wanted to play, if I want my previous save I have to do the sign out and sign back in trick, then everytime it loads my previous game.  Thats what worked for me, hope that helps.

This should really be patched. I really wish someone would fix this as many of us have xboxes which have failed.

I am on my 6th xbox since it launched and I really regret wasting my money on this game just because of this annoyance. I shouldn't have to play signout-signin shennanigans just so I can resume my saved game.

I will never play any other game developed by Jonathan Blow until this issue is fixed.

That being said, I really wish I could play this game.

isnt this the licensing issue? it seems most of you are having the problem when you try playing it on a different console than which you bought it. go to xbox.com under the support tab and transfer your licenses and it should be fine i think, i havent tried it myself yet but i would think that would be why it thinks you have a trial version
