Simply Spectacular!
This game is by far one of the most best organized and well thought out and designed game I have ever gotten my hands on. A wonderful RPG with a epic story(feels like I'm playing a movie, a great combat system, mixed with Sci-Fi. How on earth hasn't this game won Game of the Year? Its sad how games like these don't get the attention they deserve because they don't have blood and guts splattering everywhere like how typical americans like games. But oh well, wonderful title and a masterpiece by Bioware 10/10

The gameplay could have used some work but the storyline was amazing. I usually don't get into sci-fi stories to much but something about Mass Effect really sucked me in.

I am still playing but this game got me hooked like a good book or very good movie indeed. Very compelling and interesting. No game has been able to do this to me in many years.

Re: Simply Spectacular!
One of the biggest reasons this game pulls people in is because of its approach to telling the story.  It sets the mood within minutes of starting, much the same way as a blockbuster movie or an edge-of-your-seat page-turner novel does.  It makes you want to know what happens next, and next, and next, and so forth.   Get rid of the useless roaming over cookie-cutter planets in a drunken-controlling rover and you've got a flawless game.

Re: Simply Spectacular!
I completely agree. Mass Effect was just amazing to play the whole time. When I found out that there were a bunch of side quests, I thought I was going to be doing the exact same thing each time but I was dead wrong. Sure I did the same basic but they remained interesting with the story.

I am a big story person when I play games and the Mass Effect universe has me hooked.  That is why the wait for Mass Effect 2 is killing me.  Can't wait for January.

Both of the books are amazing, but can each be read in a day.

Re: Betreff: Re: Simply Spectacular!
What are you guys talking about, underrated? Mass Effect is right about at the top of its genre for Xbox 360 games. The reason it doesn't trump more FPS/action games is that the RPG doesn't have the same amount of draw per capita. This may be good or bad, but it comes down to general preferences, and it's certainly not a reason to bewail any supposed lack of popularity for this game.
Go real.

Just bought it today and it's amazing.
Not sure why a lot of people disliked Blue Dragon as it's really good.

It's funny how everyone goes on about the story, when in all honesty I have no clue what happened. I couldn't grasp the story, most likely because I didn't even enjoy the game for the first few hours.

I had a huge break from it and then came back and beat it. I planned on finishing it again, but I stopped and now when I want to finish it again before ME2 comes out, I simply can't get back into it.

Does this mean I won't like ME2? I want to like the ME games, but I can't get back into 1.

Just finished my 1st playthrough and thought it was great.

Very good story but I missed quite a few side quests and apparantley didn't finish the majority of the game.

Time to go through it again.

Well, I think that the ME storyline was the kind that you really have to listen to and get into for your to understand it, not the kind that you can just pick up along the way. Try and play it again and listen to what people say and that might help. ^_^

Yeah it's a game where you need to consistently play it, not a game to play now and then.

Re: Betreff: Re: Simply Spectacular!
I was able to get back into the game over the weekend to get my file ready for ME2. I lost track of how many playthroughs i've done but I know for a fact that i've done over 10 by now... 2 adept, 1 sentinel, 1 infiltrator, 1 engineer, 1 soldier and like 6 or 7 vanguard. Yep, I love the vanguard (has awsome biotics and shotguns). I even pre-ordered ME2 yesterday.

lol. The Vanguard is my fav too. It's kinda like the sci-fi version of a warrior/wizard. XD

I am on my 2nd playthrough and have found much more in the way of side quests this time. Hopefully I can complete the majority of the game now.
